Meredith, We're not aware of any issues with the {AP6007494} collar kit. The tension spring and the "slides" have been updated and revised to promote usage and longevity but we're not aware of any issues. Re-check the assembly for debris or damage and follow the instructions, and all should be OK.

Richard for Model Number Faucet Coupler Collar Kit #285170 for Portable Whirlpool Dishwasher

I'm trying, by trail and error, to figure out where the rubber gasket #910218 goes "exactly". The instruction sheet does not show it and I can't find an exploded view on the internet that shows its "exact" placement. Also, the order of putting it on (before the spring or after the spring) I've put it together without the gasket and it works fine for now --- but the four little white "slides" look like they might pop out when the black collar is depressed to attach to the faucet. I know the gasket must serve some function and have a specific location. I read an earlier reply on your site to a customer but it really just said which end is up and down when installing. I even tried to put it on after installing everything but the clip that is the last step thinking it might hold the slides in place but? Any "new" helpful hints, videos or diagrams would be appreciated, Thank you

Hello Michael, I'm sorry but we will need to ask you to please post a new question including the verified model number from the units' I.D. tag since the one provided will not come up for us as a valid model number. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
