This is an ice maker assembly that is made to be installed on refrigerator and freezer units. This part includes both the ice maker and the housing. The purpose of this part is to make ice that can then be dispensed. In the event that the ice maker is no longer making ice cubes, the ice maker assembly will need to be replaced. JK, You will want to pull the icemaker and check for a frozen fill tube. If frozen replace the water valve. If not frozen then pull the motor assembly off the icemaker and check to make sure that there are no burn marks on the module.

Steve, Check the icemaker module to see if the pin in the center gear is broken. If broken this would cause unit to not make ice. Also pull the icemaker out and check for a frozen fill tube. If the fill tube is frozen you will want to replace the water valve.
