1 Answer Hello Darold. You will need to order W10309990 for the unit. The compatibility tool only works for original part numbers. When a part number gets upgraded or improved, then the original part number gets changed. The compatibility tool will not recognize those with the model numbers. Read More...

Waldo August 27, 2016 for Model Number BRF20TW Stopped cooling, unplugged and plugged back in, hear a buzz, then a click like it is trying to start, then another click and the compressor kicks on, replaced the capacitor, the start device, and the overload. Still getting the same symptoms. When I was replacing the parts I noticed a burn mark on the start dev at one of the connector sockets that plugs into the compressor. any ideas?
Loose Screw March 21, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool ED20PK There is a loud, low groan for a second or two when the cooling cycle starts or finishes. Sounds something like a belt slipping while engaging or disengaging, or maybe a gasket has worn. Something with more power than one of the smaller cooling motors. The refrigerator still cools, though. Any ideas? This puppy is 25 years old. Maybe its time has come. Thank you for your sage advice.
1 Answer Loose screw, Depending on where the noise may be coming from, this could just be a normal operation noise in which the refrigerant flowing through the system will cause a groaning, croaking type noise as it starts or stops the evaporation process. It could also be a compressor noise that has developed. It does not mean that it is on its way out but would be good to monitor its operation to make sure that it is cooling properly. Read More...
Gary W January 27, 2015 for Model Number ED2FHAXSB03 When the refrigerator finishes a cooling cycle the compressor makes a knocking sound as it shuts down. It is three knocks like you are knocking on a door. What is the problem?
1 Answer Gary, There are a couple of possibilities, but the most likely is the refrigerant in the sealed system is equalizing, when the pressure from the compressor is stopped, the refrigerant can make noise, it can also make the same type noise when the compressor starts and the refrigerant is being pressurized. Most manufacturer's consider this noise as normal operation. Read More...
1 Answer Lucy, Normally when a refrigerator is tripping the circuit breaker in the house it is caused by either a wire that is exposed touching to the chassis or the compressor is shorted and would need to be replaced. Read More...

Ernest H. November 25, 2013 for Model Number REFRIGERATOR "model" ED22PWXDN00 My refrigerator will not start! It clicks on and off.
1 Answer Hello Ernest, You will most likely need to replace the start relay 4387535. If you detach it from the side of the compressor and it rattles when you shake it, it has definitely failed. Read More...
Tu June 02, 2013 for Model Number kssc36fjsso Why is my refrigerator as not as coolling before even after I replace the thermostat?
1 Answer Tu, You will want to check to make sure that the coils in the freezer compartment is not impacted with ice. If it is then you will want to check the continuity of the defrost heater and defrost thermostat. If one does not have continuity then replace that part. If they both have continuity then your defrost control would be the issue. If there is no frost build up you will want to check to make sure that the evaporator fan motor is running and that the damper into the refrigerator compartment is opening. Read More...
Gene D March 17, 2013 for Model Number Amana BB20VW Has a Tucumseh compressor. What is horsepower rating for this compressor? I want to install a 3in one relay and there are 2 . one is rated for 1/12 and one is rated for 1/4 and up.
1 Answer Gene, We do not have horsepower ratings for compressors. We do not recommend the use of hard start kits as they can damage a compressor further. You should always replace the overload and relay rather than put a hard start on the unit. Read More...
