Mike for Model Number mdbd880aww

The current/original touch panel does not illuminate at all when touched. Yesterday, occasionally, when you would open and close the door, you could hear the dishwasher wanting to begin its cycle and then it would stop wtihin about 3 seconds. But the touch panel still did not light up when touched. Now today, the screen still does not illuminate and it does not attempt to start the cycle. I inspected the PCB and found nothing obviously wrong. It was a little warm to the touch but nothing out of the ordinary. I did notice 2 small "brown hot" marks by two resistors. I put it all back together, cleaned all water inlet and outlet points inside the tub and no change. Touch screen still does not power up. Will a repalcement PCB work? Can I return it if my "part swap " approach does not pan out?

Mike, You're on track, But first, check and make sure the mounting tabs for the PCB,on the inside of the control panel have not broken and allowed the PCB to slip back and away from the control panel 6-915433 . Then replace the PCB WP99002825 , if all's OK. Good Luck and Thanks
