Greg January 23, 2016 for Model Number MaytagSE1000 My washer filled but will not change from the pause to lock to wash. I hear a relay click when I press the pause resume button and it displays 8 then clicks again, beeps and displays L. I have closed the lid many times but it does not help. How can I fix this as I have a load of clothes and water in the washer?
1 Answer Greg, Two things to check for this complaint. first remove the washer front panel(two screws) then start the washer. observe the lid lock assembly in the upper left portion of the opening / lid. The solenoid should activate and raise the lock lever(that's probably the relay click you hear). When the lever raises it should activate the micro switch WP10533003 mounted on the right side of the assembly. Check that the switch is being activated and that the switch has an "open" circuit in the unlocked position, and a "closed" circuit when the lever raises and latches the lid. If all's OK slide the washer out from under the dryer just enough the reach the left rear corner of the top, disconnect the "umbilical cord", check the pins in both connectors remove any corrosion as best possible. Reseat the connectors and make sure the cords are seated and locked together, and operate the washer. Read More...
Ron May 14, 2015 for Model Number se1000 The dryer drum will not cut off. It keeps running, heating, and timer goes off.
1 Answer Hello Ron, You should use a test meter to test resistance from the yellow #6 wire with a black trace on the motor relay WPW10133335 to the grey #50 wire on the same relay. This reading should be open since the relay is not energized. If it reads open it is good and you will need to test the centrifugal switch in the motor W10411000 Red #15 to Black #54. This should also read open when not connected to power. If both of these test good, the issue will be the control WP33001048. Read More...
David R. September 28, 2014 for Model Number SG1000 Some of the functions on the touchpad don't work while others do. They have been slowly going one at a time. Do I need a touchpad a assembly or a control board?
Shane September 07, 2014 for Model Number lse1000 Which wires do I check for power at control board for power?
1 Answer Shane, If the control will not function and no pad will respond you will want to check the following. Check to make sure that there is 120 vac into the transformer and that there is 10 and 26 vac coming out of the transformer if not replace the transformer. Test at the control board to make sure that there is 10 and 26 vac if not replace wiring between transformer and control. if all this checks ok then replace the control board. Read More...
Innrry October 21, 2013 Hi, I have an LSE1000 and love it. I have replaced different parts on over the year. We knew the control panel was going to go a some point it was making a buzzing sound when it wasn't running. Well finally the touch buttons had to be pressed very hard to turn on the Washer or the dryer. Now it makes a buzz if press but no longer turns on machine. I am thinking it is the control board. Can you confirm? Thanks, Innrry
1 Answer Innrry, The touchpad assembly 306292 is definitely part of the issue. The constant beep and pressure needed to select settings and start the machines. When you replace the assembly, make sure you transfer the white plastic spacers between the control board WP33001048 and the touch pad assembly to the new part. " A built in self diagnostic test program can be initiated from the touch pad assembly. To call this program up : 1. Pess the washer OFF pad then the dryer OFF pad. 2. Press and hold the dryer signal ON/OFF pad. 3. Press the washer Regular Program pad(while still holding the dryer signal ON/OFF pad.) The cycle and option indicators will blink on and off. The washer display will show "- 18", the dryer display will show "88", and the speaker will sound four times. The indicator and readouts will continue to cycle on and off until the diagnostics check is terminated by pressing the dryer "OFF" pad." Once you install the new touch pad assembly, and conduct this test, you'll know if you need the control board or not. Read More...
Roz September 22, 2013 for Model Number SE1000 The appliance repair person quoted over $400 to replace the control board and will give a 90 warranty on parts and labor. I wonder if I an replacee the washer unit and what length warranty should I expect?
1 Answer Hello Roz, There is no reason why you cannot perform the repair yourself. More and more people are taking care of their own issues with assistance from folks like us. As far as the warranty goes, all parts sold by http://www.appliancepartspros.com/ carry a 365 day unconditional warranty, even on those parts that the manufacturer only covers for 90 days. All you have to do is call us for a return authorization and we will send you the shipping label for the return. Once we receive the part back, the refund will be issued. Read More...
Sandi September 13, 2013 for Model Number MAYTAG LSE1000 The washer and dryer run perfectly, no problems except the dryer will not heat. It is no the thermal fuse and everything else has power going to it so what else can it be? Is it worth purchasing a new control panel and trying it?
1 Answer Sandi, Don't start at the control board, not yet anyway. You need to check the heater relay WP306199 to see if it closes, and sends 120 VAC to the heater element 314503 and check the heater element for a "closed" circuit with a multi meter. Or visually inspect it for breaks, especially in the area of the insulators. The heater relay is mounted to the side of the "pedestal" where the motor mounts to the cabinet base. Read More...

Canderousa April 29, 2013 for Model Number SG1000 or SE1000 My old Maytag stackable washer/dryer will not go past the spin cycle. It will start the cycle for 10-30 seconds and then beep, beep, beep. I -think- the moment the washer begins to spin hard is when it stops and beeps. A buddy came over with a multimeter and said it was a bad control assembly. I'm not sure if he's correct or not. Does anyone have any ideas or experience in this? Thanks.
1 Answer Canderousa, Based on the information, it sounds like you may have a bad unbalanced switch 202476. Read More...
