David, With the rest of the keypad working, the issue would be in the control panel for the lights not coming on. This would be a short in the keypad causing the issue.

Laurence P. for Model Number MDBHAWS0

I'm writing for help with a dishwasher which stopped working after two years. The lights for heavy wash (high temp) would light previously but otherwise it didn't respond to buttons. Today, after checking what I could (ribbon cable, latch) and replacing the control PCB, there's no response at all to cycle start, and no fill or wash operations. I'm at about the end of my rope here. At the factory I'm confident they'd change control boards until something new showed up but that's not reasonable for me. Any ideas?

Hello Laurence, This sounds like there may be a control panel problem but you need to do some tests for voltage first. Make sure you have 120Vac to the control and you will also need to verify neutral at the control. Both of these have to pass through the door switches before getting to the control. If the voltage is getting to the control and the unit is dead, verify connections to the control panel before ordering the control board. I would go into further detail but cannot since the model number you provided comes up as invalid.

Hello Jeff, Since this unit has no LED display, I'm not sure what you mean by the #3 being lit up. If the light by the heated dry option button is illuminated, the option has been selected. If it is flashing constantly, the button is stuck and the control panel will need to be replaced. If the light is flashing seven times with a pause and then repeating, the issue is in the heating cycle. If the unit will not run, of course it will not be heated dry selected, so you need to watch the light to see if there is a pause after seven flashes. If so, you will need to check the heating element, the high limit thermostat on the bottom of the tub assembly, the door switches, the main control board, and the wiring harness.

Mike for Model Number Samsung DMR78AHS

Hello, We have a Samsung dishwasher dmr78ahs and we have had nothing but problems with it, first the pump had to be changed by the tech two months after we bought it, dish's are not coming out real clean and there is Oder coming out of it when we open the door. Now we have a 6E2 that comes up and after some online searching it relates to two buttons pushed. I have my unit torn apart with all electric connections unplugged and I can not see where there are two buttons pushed that is causing this code to come up. What is wrong with it and what can I do to fix it, this was a very expensive unit to buy and I do not really want to buy another one. Thanks

Hello Judy. Usually this happens when the counter top covers the vent and it causes moisture to build up on the ribbon cable. You can try pulling the unit out some where the vent is not under the counter top.

Hello Kevin. If the unit fill and runs, but wont complete the cycle, the board is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit.

Brad for Model Number MDBH955AWW

Our dishwasher does not drain after every wash. Sometimes it does but a growing number of times it is leaving water in the bottom. If we start a rinse only cycle and then cancel that a minute later, it will pump the water out just fine. If we don't catch the water in the bottom and start another wash, we get a big flood onto the floor. Any thoughts? Also, I would like to replace whatever seals between the tub and the door at the bottom, what part would that be?

1 Answer

Hello Brad, If nothing is stopped up in the drain line and the drain pump impeller is in good shape, the outlet W10296525 has a plate in the bottom of it that has probably separated.

Hello Mark. Based on the information you provided, it sounds more like the control panel on the unit. Try cleaning the ribbon cable on the unit and see if that helps. Use rubbing alcohol to clean the cable.

Jimmy, Based on the description of the lights coming on for the cycle but the unit will not start, it sounds like the door latch switches may be at fault not making contact to start the unit.
