David From Grafton, Ma December 13, 2019 for Model Number JES9800AAW 2 Buttons on the left side of the panel (for Oven Light & Vent Fan (downdraft)) have stopped working after an oven clean. I see that the control panel can be replaced (~$300) but it appears to be a decorative front panel only? The actual control board circuitry is behind it (& no longer available for sale). I assume that just replacing a decorative panel would not fix my problem... which is most likely on the circuit board. Do you agree? Serial Number of the Range is 13965387ZM. Do you have any idea how old it would be? Thanks
1 Answer David, the control panel houses the switch membrane. It is the part that you touch and it then sends that command to the main control, located behind the panel. You can have a defective control panel and it is no longer able to send the commands to the control. Tuen the power off to the stove and remove the ribbon that connects to the control and check for any defects or for a poor connection. Re-attach the ribbon and see if that makes a difference. If you need to replace the control panel, the part number is WP74005748 in the color white. Read More...
Michael April 15, 2019 for Model Number Jes9860aaw. Serial#25449983GP My Jen-air electric range model jes9860AAW serial# 25449982GP oven will heat to about 270 and will go no higher everything else works. What do I need and what will it cost me ? Can I do the repair myself?
1 Answer Michael, you may want to check the oven sensor [12001656] for operation. The resistance of the sensor at room temperature should be 1000 ohms. If it is not reading 1000 ohms at room temperature, then it has failed. If the sensor tests good, then it may be possible that the main control [74009319] has failed. Unfortunately if the main control has failed, it is a part that is discontinued and no longer available. Read More...
Stan December 14, 2017 for Model Number Jenn-Air JES9800AAW Ser. No. 17327797AT First, thanks for answering my previous question (question-231356) regarding the broil element not turning OFF. You determined that the oven control board needs to be replaced but this board is discontinued by the manufacturer and you no longer have ant left in stock. So my question here is that if replacing the control panel assembly (Part # 74007234) could resolve this issue?
1 Answer Stan, Replacing the control panel assembly would not rectify the issue of the broil element staying on as the control panel would not have the control board in it. Read More...
Stan December 12, 2017 for Model Number JES9800AAW I have a Jena-Air model JES9800AAW with Ser. No. 17327797AT. The broil element won't turn OFF except for power to the entire range was shut off. I checked that the temperature sensor is fine (~1000 Ohm resistance). Please help.
1 Answer Hello Stan, it sounds like the broil relay on the control board is stuck closed and will need to be replaced. However the board was discontinued by the manufacturer and we no longer have any left in stock. Sorry! Read More...
Tove257 December 17, 2015 for Model Number JES9860ACW Our 11-year-old Jenn-Air downdraft range has developed problems with the touch panel. I cannot set the clock or oven temperature because only the #2 and #3 buttons work. The vent fan and warming buttons work, but others don't. Can there be any cause other than a faulty touch control panel that I can check first? Thanks.
1 Answer Tove257, You will want to check the ribbon harness between the control panel and control board to make sure that the harness does not have any corrosion on it. If it does then clean the contacts and see if this does not resolve the issue. If it does not resolve then the control panel will most likely be the cause for this issue. Read More...
Scott July 25, 2015 for Model Number JES9800AAW I have an the following oven: Model JES9800AAW s/n 22255666EN The "0" button has not been working for the past few years. Now I have the F1-7 error code. The oven will reset after power cycling, will even begin to heat up but will then shut off altogether. From researching it appears that I need to replace the control panel. Is this correct? The other option appears to be the clock (more expensive). Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Scott. Membrane disconnected. Ensure ribbon cable is securely connected, inspect ribbon cable and connector (shorts, breakage, corrosion, etc.). If OK, replace control. Read More...
