Gary for Model Number GU2400XTPB3

The pots & pans light blinks, there are two horizontal bars in the time remaining window and the start/resume and the cancel/drain buttons do nothing. You answer this question and said it was a code for the door latch. I replaced the door latch, the door seal and striker and have check the door switches and they are both good. After having the power to the machine off for a couple of days I turned the power back on and was able to get the dishwasher to run until it had about 13 minutes left in the cycle and the same thing happened light blinking, two bars and start button does nothing. I wired around the door switches to make a direct connection and nothing changed. Is it possible something is heating up to cause this problem?

1 Answer

Hello Gary. The only other thing it could be is the wiring harness or the control board. If the harness is good, replace the board.

Hello Gary. That is an error code for bad door latch or switches. You will need to check out the door latch on the unit.

Hello Jim, The flashing light indicates an issue with the heating circuit. You will need to check the door switches, the high limit thermostat under the base of the unit, the heating element, and the control. The only other thing it could be is the harness.

If the Thermo switch opens, will all lights on the front panel remain off? The washer was washing, stopped before drain cycle with all lights off. checked breaker, OK. Reset Breaker, still no lights on. Checked pwr to Circuit board, has pwr, but no lights or switches working. If Control board is changed, the old thermo is placed on the new board. New board installed, no pwr indications. Can a short between the two thermo connectors to see if any light or if any switch works?

1 Answer

David, Yes if the thermal fuse opens the lights on the control panel will not light up and there will be no power to the control board.

I have the blinking clean light problem. Can do the reset and the light goes out sometimes most of the time it will not complete all the cycles and dishes are dirty when it stops. Then sometimes after I do the reset and cancel it does fine like it is supposed to. The element is working because when it completes the cycle and when it's finished and you open the door steam hits you in your face so I would think the element is working? Was thinking about trying a control board, but being they are pricy though I would ask first. I'm fairly handy already opened the front to check connections on the board and door switches all good still has same problem clean light flashing slow wont sratr until you do a reset. My hot Water heater is set at 125 degrees.

Hello Mike. Make sure you get the water hot at the sink before starting the unit. If so, and the issue continues, you will need to replace the control board in the unit. As for the dirty dishes. Make sure the spray arm holes are clean and clear and the water is filling to the bottom of the heater.

Seth, It sounds like the unit is in a test mode. Try to hit the cancel button instead of high temp and heated dry. If the door is open during this time that it is in the test mode it will not cycle through the test.

Mike, Based on the information it sounds like the issue would be caused by a faulty control board. Not seeing any typed of error codes that would represent an error such as l8 or L3.

Jason, The issue should be in the control panel / key pad assembly. Your keypad circuits are failing due to degradation of the mylar panel and membrane circuits, under the keypads..

My dishwasher is showing the following: The Normal light is flashing rapidly, the sanitation lite, the heat light is lite, the start button is lite and the timer does not show any number but shows " - - " instead. I disconnected power to try and get it to reset but had no luck. The unit, when powered up, goes back to the light displays I wrote of above. The dishwasher itself will not come on at all. Not that this is a reason for failure but we use the dishwasher about 2 to 3 times per year since installation in 2006 so the key pad seems like new. Not sure of the control board or fuses that may affect usage. Of course I am sure they can go at any time as well. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks for your time.

1 Answer

Hello Josh. If the manual drain cycle works, you will need to replace the control board on the unit.
