Will, Based on the information provided it sounds like you have checked the necessary components for this issue. The control board would be the most likely cause for the unit not operating.

Hello Bill, When the clean light flashes it can only mean one of two things. It can mean that the clean button is stuck and the control panel is in need of replacement or it can mean that the heating circuit has failed. The way to tell which has happened is that if the heating circuit has failed, the clean light will flash seven times with a pause and then flash seven times with a pause, etc. If the clean button is stuck there will be no pause after seven flashes. If this is the case, you need to troubleshoot the heating circuit. There are five components: the heating element, the high limit thermostat, the door switch, the control, and the wiring harness. There should be a tech sheet behind the kick panel which will show the wiring diagram. This should enable you to shoot through the circuit with an ohm meter. If it reads open from the control board, you will need to test each component individually. It will also guide you through a self diagnostic test that is necessary to run through to clear the code so the unit can run a cycle once repaired.

Basilio, This issue would sound more like an issue with the console rather than the control board.

Jim for Model Number GU2400XTPS3

Hi, my dishwasher gave the 7-blink light code a few days ago. I ran it through the diagnostics and the heating element was heating fine during the wash cycle where it comes on, but didn't seem to be heating in the dry cycle. Since then, we've been running it with heated dry off and it has been fine until today. Today during a wash cycle, it smelled like burning electronics, so I took out the control board and found the back side of relay K2 was completely charred. a couple capacitors, a diode and a resistor were also really hot. Is it safe to just replace the control board, or is there something else downstream that could have cause the problem?

Hello Jim. Yes, you need to replace the board on the unit. The other parts should be good on the unit.

Hello G Smith. Press heated dry, normal , heated dry, normal 5 times. When the unit starts, let it complete the cycle. Once done, always get the water hot at sink before starting dishwasher. This should fix the unit. If not, replace the board. You should be able to do it.

If it reads open from the control board, you will need to test each component individually. I have found that if the unit is solidly mounted under the counter top and is properly leveled, the heating element is the most common part to fail. Let us know if we need to render further assistance.

William, You will want to check your heater circuit for a failure. The clean light blinking 7 times indicates that the unit is not heating properly. Check the heater and the thermistor to make sure that they are good. Check to make sure that the wiring does not have any breaks in it and if these check ok then you will need a new control board.

Richard, You will want to check your soil sensing switch 8542575 to make sure that it is good. If good then you will need to replace the control board WP8564547. To check the switch you would do a continuity test. The switch will read normally open unless there is significant soils in the pump. If the switch reads closed then check to make sure that there is not a lot of build up in the pump and if this checks ok then replace the switch. If the switch checks open then replace the control board.

Pete, The clean light flashing 7 times would be a heater circuit issue. You will want to check the continuity of the heater to make sure that it is not bad. Check the water temp coming into the unit to make sure that it is at least 120 degrees. Check the thermal fuse for the heater to ensure that it is not blown. Check the wiring from the heater to the controll board. IF all this checks ok then the control board would be at faulty.
