Dave for Model Number 110-21062000

I have a Kenmore Calypso washer model #110-21062000. The touch screen will not power on, somethings I will get it to power up and get an error code FL. But for the most part it is as if there is no power, the touch screen is blank and no sounds. I changed out the main control board no change, I then changed out the power cleaner/filter and still no change. I know that the FL means flood warning, could a bad drain pump cause this kind of issue? If not what could be the problem?

1 Answer

Dave, The drain pump would not cause a FL error. This would be caused by the pressure switch sensing that the unit is getting too full. If there is no water coming in the unit when it stops then the issue will most likely be a faulty pressure switch.

Washer would not drain so I removed pump and motor. Cleaned impellor and motor still would not rotate. I forced it to turn and now it rotates freely. Before I go to all the work of reinstalling and hooking up washer I would like to verify that motor works properly. I would like to hook up 120 volt power to motor leads, but don't know which ones to use. The ground is obvious, but the other leads are red, brown and white. Can you tell me which leaeds to use?

1 Answer

Hello Jeff. To test drain function it is yellow is positive and white is negative.

I came home and my washer had a ld error code I unplugged it and then I got a ce code so I did a little research and then I took apart the top where the motor contoller is and I will disconnected the plugs and plugged them back in 30 hoping that would work. I plugged the machine back in and I ran quick wash and went to my room then 10 minutes later I heard a noise from the Washing machine I went to check it out and water was all over the floor but the cycle was still running and the machine was full of water too is my pump bad?

1 Answer

Hello Rudy. Either the pressure switch or the water valve failed on the unit. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit.

Will for Model Number whirlpool calypso

First got an FL error. I siphoned out the water and tried again then got an LD error. I disassembled all hoses and bottom of pump. Cleaned hair off the impeller and reassembled everything. I put drain hose in a bucket and started a rinse spin cycle it pumped out about a gallon of water and that's it. Tried to da a wash and problem started all over again. Now I get an F1 code and I\cant find any info on that. Does the pump need to be replaced even thought it worked to pump out that gallon?

1 Answer

Hello Rick. Off Balance. If the motor controller detects an unrecoverable off-balance condition, the machine controller will shut down and display an “ob” for off balance. The lid switch must be opened at least once before restarting the cycle if this condition occurs. Opening the lid will allow the customer to view and redistribute the load. ¦ Press Stop/Cancel to clear the display. If it continues, replace the suspension springs 285916.

Hello John. Just remove the pump and clean out the pump and the hoses if needed. Then if the pump does not run, you will need to replace it. Most of the time, just cleaning out will fix it.
