John M July 25, 2013 for Model Number GVW9959KQ2 Control Board on occasion starts itself and registers 44 on the machine. Some times you can turn the unit off on the panel and it will stay off then other times it will keep turning back on to the 44 setting (the 44 is the setting for a normal wash). When it keeps coming back on the only way to stop it from coming on is to unplug the machine. When the machine is plugged back in the washer works normally until the next episode begins. Will replacing the Electronic Control (Part AP3837551 MFG Part 8571359) correct this problem?
1 Answer Hello John. Based on the information you provided, there is a stuck button and you will need to replace the control panel WP8563809 on the unit. Read More...
Bob B. May 12, 2013 for Model Number Calypso 110-22066102 Touch pads do nothing when you touch them. I have checked the control board with a multi tester. I get line voltage at pins 2 and 4 of P16 on the control board. I get .35 V on pins 1 and 5 of the same P16 and on pins 1 and 2 of P1 on the motor board. I am afraid that the control board needs replaced, and at over $200, that it might not be worth fixing this machine after all the repair problems I have run across trying to figure out my problem. Anyone have an answer?
1 Answer Hello Bob. If there is power coming into the control board, but no power coming out, you will need to order and replace the control board on the unit. It sounds like you have found the issue with the unit. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Reid. Yes, there should be 120 volts from the CCU to the MCU on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Elmer September 12, 2012 for Model Number Kenmore Elite Calypso 110 2408 2200 When I start a cycle the washer is fine. After five or six minutes after drain the water when start load water stops , start, stops move a little the clothes, stops and never ends. The washer can stay in this mode for minutes. When I try to drain manually is not working, start by second, stops, start, stops, do you thing is any of the two boards the problem?
1 Answer Hi Elmer. Make sure the drain pump part # 285990 impeller is not spinning loose on the shaft and not allowing proper drain. Remove the hose off the pressure switch and blow back in towards the tub. If you removed a slight restriction then this will "reset" the proper fill amount allowing the wash cycle to continue its cycle again. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance. Thank You. Read More...
Paul August 07, 2012 for Model Number gvw9959kt2 I am an A/C My washer stopped working, none of the lights on the control panel comes on. I purchased the electronic control board thinking this would solve the problem. when I installed the new board I had the same issue. I should have test the board to determine if it was bad. How do I test the Board to determine if the new board is good. I will wait for you response. Thank you in advance for your help.
1 Answer Hello Paul. You need to test for power coming to the control board. If there is power there, and the control panel does not light up, you will need to replace the control panel WP8563810 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Ken August 12, 2011 for Model Number GVW9959KT2 Washer has had intermittent problems for approx. 2 months with the control panel freezing up (stuck on one particular wash cycle), control panel lighting up and beeping when not in use and has finally died with no response, won't power on. Power was verified to the outlet and all connections were checked/confirmed. Not sure if this would be the control panel or control board. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Ken. Check and make sure there is power at the control board 8571359. Test the control panel ribbon cable across P11-1 & P12-5, when start is pressed, these should go from infinity to a readable level. If so, replace the control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mike August 11, 2011 for Model Number gvw9959kq1 I am putting on a new machine control board that does not have the p17 terminal. The jumper wire fell out of the harness with p13. Do I have to put the p17 back on, or can I just leave it out all together.
1 Answer Hello Mike. This part may be different than your original part. This new version of the Machine Control Board 8571359 does not include the P-17 connector. The jumper harness does not need to be connected to the board. Do not remove the jumper from the harness. Let the 3-pin connector hang from the harness. Read More...
Jonathan June 17, 2011 for Model Number gvw9959kq2 My washing machine start working about 4 minute then stop 30,40,60 second and on off ,on off ........never finish .I think problem between of 2 circut board (Machine controlier & motor controller ,timer} which one ? Because that the board is price that high. Thank you for your help
1 Answer Hi Jonathan. Is your washer giving any F- codes ? A code will direct you to the area where most likely the problem might be. However, try to hold the door closed tightly and see if it will continue to run. If so, then replace the lid switch assembly part # WP8272124. Also, double check the fill hoses to insure the water valve inlet screens are not plugged. These screens will often get plugged with sediment and need flushed to allow correct timed water fill. Please let us know if we can assist further. Thank- you Read More...
