Jd August 28, 2011 for Model Number mer5755qaw why don't the parts lasts longer anymore .we had this part replace about two years. the part is the hidden bake element
1 Answer JD, I really can't explain the life expectancy of parts, I'm sure there have been changes over the years, but thats proprietary information for the manufacturers. As for the element, to the best of my knowledge, they are still produced by the same manufacturers the product builder has always used. and most failed elements are due to some type of usage issue. 2 years is a bit short for a hidden bake element,in my opinion. Dee May 28, 2011 for Model Number MER5775QAW My Maytag oven needs a new bottem element. It has a cover over it. How do I remove that to get to the element? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Dee. To remove that cover try to find the screws in the back of the oven that hold it down to the base of the oven cavity. After removing these, the cover should lift out. I hope this info helps. Read More...
Don And Sue February 19, 2011 The Maytag oven baking element came today. It was listed on your site as needing part AP4101290. It seems to have an additional middle medal piece across from one side of the element to the other.
1 Answer This part is designed with a support mount on it that would mount on the bottom of the oven. May we have your model number to verify the correct part was purchased? Read More...
Guest February 19, 2011 My 6 year old oven heats up very, very slowly. The currant heating element is covered with a black, crusty debris & I think this is the reason why this happens. Can a novice replace this heating element?
1 Answer Yes, as long as you unplug the unit, it's easy to install. Just remove the screws holding it in, and unplug the wires off the old one, and reinstall the new one. Read More...
