Joseph B June 02, 2013 for Model Number PLEB30S9DCA Oven was on & stopped working, the broiler is working either. The oven is not warming up. Although, everything else is working such as light/clock/timer/start button
1 Answer Joseph, You will want to check to see if you are getting power at the control with the unit set to bake check from L1 to bake and if there is 240 vac then the control board would be the cause of failure. Read More...

Senedra March 23, 2013 for Model Number Maytag Electric Range My element went out, so I changed it. I turned on the oven to see if it works. It's been 3 hours and it is still not on 350. The oven is getting hot, it is moving up 5 every half hour or longer. It is at 245. What is wrong now?
1 Answer Senedra, You will want to check the clock assembly to make sure that you are getting power between L1 and bake with unit turned to bake. If not then you will need to replace the clock assembly. If you do have the 240 vac then you will want to check at the element to make sure that you are getting 240 vac and if not then trace wires back to terminal block and look for damaged wiring. Tom March 06, 2013 for Model Number Amana model aer5715qaw The oven does not work. When I turn it on it reads 100 degress and stays there. Does not heat. The burners on the top of the stove do work..
1 Answer Hello Tom. Test the element and make sure it reads closed on the unit. If so, and you are not getting 120 volts from the control to the element, you will need to order and replace the control WP5701M719-60 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Melissa December 07, 2012 Hello, Just wondering if there is a test for the heating element to see if that is the problem with the oven. I am asking this question for someone else. All I know is that the Oven will not heat..the stove top works well.
1 Answer Hello Melissa. You can test the element. It should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Steve March 26, 2012 for Model Number MER5765QAB I have a Maytag Model MER5765QAB. The bottom unit was making popping noises and flashing after a very long time heating up (it took an hour to get to 400 degrees). I turned the oven off. The top of stove works fine. I removed the cover and saw the left side of the element charred. In fact, the charred area broke off really easy (oven was cool by then). What's the best method to repair? Do I have to unplug the unit, or is turning off the circuit breaker OK?
1 Answer Hello Steve, Sounds like the bake element has burned out. The part number is WPW10276482. Be sure not to try to replace it with the power on to the unit as 120Vac rides on the element at all times. I would ohm it out first and make sure this is the problem as there is normally a thermal cut-out in series with the element. The element will show somewhere between 30 and 80 ohms of resistance. This link will show you how to use a test meter: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html.'>http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html. Bob February 14, 2012 for Model Number PER5750LAQ Maytag range Im wanting to replace heating element in the oven. part # AP4701262. Im not seeing how to get to it.
1 Answer Bob, The Bake element is located under the oven bottom panel. Heres some help, after you turn the power off to the range, and remove the oven door and racks " Bake Element 1. Turn off power to unit. 2. Remove screws securing oven bottom cover. 3. Raise the back of the bake element cover and slide cover back to release the front edge of cover and lift out of oven cavity. 4. Remove screws securing bake element to rear of oven wall. 3. Pull element forward to allow disconnection of terminals on each element leg. 4. Reverse procedure to reinstall bake element." Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Brian January 07, 2012 for Model Number 91195482990 My maytag oven bake element popped, flashed, and broke during operation I do not see any that look like the one in my oven on your display. Did it just wear out and break, is it saft to replace ? Is it easy to replace ? Thanks B.T.
1 Answer Hi Brian All elements when off has standing power on them so disconnect the power. Then remove the door and storage drawer. Then you remove the racks. Remove the element mount bolts. Then pull out the unit. Then remove the back cover. Remove the element wire connectors. Then go to the front and pull out the old element. Then slide in the new one. Bolt it ion place. Go to the back and re-pack the insulation back around the element terminal studs as they pass to the back of the unit. This will allow the heat to stay inside the cavity and not burn out wires or conectors in the near future. This failure is a common one for elements. Reassemble in reverse. Part # WPW10276482. Bill December 19, 2011 for Model Number KERS205TSS KITCHEN AID Oven, broiler, self clean, will not heat at all. Self clean functions work including door lock and cycle start on control panel. Everything on the control panel functions properly. Stove top elements and controls work fine. No heat anywhere else.
1 Answer Hello Bill. You will need to check and see if the thermal limiter 74008715 is open for continuity on the unit. If so, it will need to be replaced. It will prevent both elements from heating in the oven. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
