1 Answer Joseph, After you disconnect power to the unit, open the oven door and remove the screw in the center of the bake burner where it goes through the wall and pull it out slowly. Disconnect the wiring and install the new one. Read More...
Baker July 27, 2022 for Model Number KEDO275SS Is the Bake element WP3177420 / AP6007699 compatible with my 37 year old oven KEDO275SS? The appliance compatibility tool showed that the part is compatible with KEDO276SS, but not KEDO275SS. The measurements of the photo show that is looks like the one I have. Thanks very much!
1 Answer Baker, unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued the bake element CC-70845 for this model and has not provided an approved substitute. As this is the case, we would not be able to guarantee that an alternative part would install the same and have the same operating specs. Read More...
Joe C October 05, 2017 for Model Number CMO-274892 I have a Chambers model CMO-274892, with a burnt out bake element. Will this part fit my oven?
1 Answer Hello Joe. The model number will have to be verified on the units I.D. tag since the one listed came up invalid. This will be necessary to look up and specific parts such as the one you requested. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please call 1-877-477-7278 or post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Ron July 06, 2012 for Model Number KEBS277SBL-1 The Repair Part List from Whirlpool lists the bake element for the top oven as part #3177423 but you list it as #3177420. Is this the same part? Thanks.
1 Answer Ron, the original bake element (part number 3177423) discontinued and is now replaced by part number 3177420 from the manufacturer. This is our part number WP3177420. Thanks! Read More...
Mike C. May 05, 2012 I have an oven with the bake element that looks like part # AP3026501. I have no continuity on the element itself and when I check voltage at the connection I have 241 VAC at start up and drops to about 95 VAC 15 seconds later. I assume that I have a bad element due to no continuity but why is my voltage dropping from 240 to 95 after 15 seconds ? Thanks in advance for any help...
1 Answer Hi Mike. If you measured the element ohms and find that the element is open or even shorted against it own base mount ground then just as soon as has full power then it sows a 50% or better drop because you are loosing one side of the power. Start at the terminal block on the unit. Make sure with the breaker off that you have full 240 vac to the outer 2-terminals and 120 volts from the middle terminal (neutral) to each outer terminal leg L-1 and L-2 as well . If not then you have a supply issue with possibly a bad terminal block post part # [] or house outlet voltage issue. Remember as soon as you apply voltage ( & amperage ) to a cold element it may suddenly draw current needed until the weakest part of the element reopens and then you lose voltage. One side of the power will come directly from the terminal block to each one side of the bake or broil element. Then when you command the bake or broil function, the corresponding clock relay closes and gives you the other half of the 240 volt ( 120 volts) to the element. Follow the wire going to the element from the terminal block and make sure you have 120 volts to it and to the neutral terminal under live conditions. Remove power. Then unplug the other wire to the bake element coming from the clock relay. with the wire disconnected insert the red meter lead and then place the black lead to the ground or the neutral with the power applied and the command given. If you have less then 118 -122 volts then consider replace the clock assy. because the relay contacts may not be passing the correct voltage either. Please double check the correct model # so we can assist you further with correct part #'s. Thank You. Read More...
Dick Manteuffel October 19, 2011 for Model Number KEBS277 SBL1 Thanks for your previous answer! Now I wonder if the element is the problem. I checked the resistance with an ohm meter. There is continuity and it shows 25 ohm resistance. I checked that there is voltage (120volts)at the wires that connect to the element when the oven is on "bake" and no voltage when i change the dail broil or off. I'm wondering why it's 120 when the oven is in 240 circuit. Hope I'm not wearing out my welcome -- thanks for your help!!
1 Answer Dick, you're correct, You should read 240 VAC across the element wires with the control in a bake cycle. Apparently you have lost a power leg to the element. You most likely have an open thermal fuse located behind the control panel in the area of the door latch assembly 814505 or an open wire. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Dick M. October 19, 2011 for Model Number KEBS277SBL-1 Does this element come with the ceramic or other supports that keep it off the bottom? It doesn not look like the old ones come off. Also, the picture looks like there is a push on tab on only one side for the wire connection. Mine has one on each side.
1 Answer Hello Dick! Yes, the bake element WP3177420 come with the support brackets to hold it up off the oven liner. This bake element also has two push on terminals, one on each side. Thanks. Read More...
