Erica September 15, 2011 for Model Number CWE4700BCE The oven has a sudden drop in temperature but not a total loss. At 500 degree setting it only heats to 200. How do I know if I need a new bake element or if something else is the problem? Do bake elements fail entirely or can they fail by giving lower heat like this?
1 Answer Hello Erica. You will need to test the element WPY04000066. It should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Emmanuel August 13, 2011 for Model Number CWE470 I need to replace the bottom (Baking) element too. But the connections to the element seems to be welded to the bottom element, what do I do? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Emmanuel. The connections are tight on the element WPY04000066. If they are welded onto the element, you will need to cut the element wires and crimp on new terminal onto the wires. You will need to use high temperature terminals TJMA02875-1. Hope this helps. Read More...
Judy S. June 30, 2011 for Model Number CWE5800ACE I have a Maytag and the top heating element broke. I see a diagram by Whirlpool, AP4283357, is like what I need. Will it work in my Maytag?
1 Answer Hello Judy! For the broil element use part number WP7406P203-60 and for the bake element use part number WPY04000066. Thanks! Read More...
Jack March 03, 2011 Does the lower element simply plug to connect or is there a wiring connection at the back required (which would require pulling the oven out)?
