Chana December 23, 2013 for Model Number cwe5800ace When I turn on bake of top oven the temperature rises very slowly and the bottom element seems cool. The boil function does work. Which part do you think I need to replace. I don't see any error function on control panel.
1 Answer Hello Chana. You need to test the bake element WPY04000066 and see if it is bad in the unit. It should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Jim F April 10, 2013 for Model Number 962W-3CWW Magic Chef (1973) I need to replace the bake element on a Magic Chef 24" builtin double oven model 962W-3CWW serial number 3x682021. The original element is 17" wide, 17"deep measured from the mounting bracket, 13/4" from bracket to terminals, and 11/2" between terminals. The terminal conections are for screws. The cross over calls for a replacemnet part Y04000066 but the dimentions are different. What do you suggest?
1 Answer Jim, Based on the model number, the correct part number for your unit would have been 1938261 which is showing as being discontinued by the manufacturer with no replacement. Read More...

Terry June 15, 2012 for Model Number Stove / Oven / Range Bake Element - Y04000066 Bake Element used on some Maytag brand Stove / Oven / Lower oven element after turning it on and waiting for it to preheat, made a pop noise, when I looked inside it had caught on fire. I know how to replace the element but my concern is...is this normal for an element and/or could it have been cause by an electrical problem? I have had elements just burn out over time but never had one pop and catch on fire.
1 Answer Hello Terry. As long as the element did not short out the clock, you should be fine just replacing the element WPY04000066 in the unit. It is normal for some of them to catch fire when burning out, but should put their self out when power is removed from the unit. Read More...
Gary May 30, 2012 for Model Number CWE5800ACB MY upper oven will not bake or broil. The elements look good. The temp sensor reads 1096 ohms. The elements read continuity. The lower oven works good. I am reading 120VAC at the yellow wire to the element. I have 240 volts at the red and black wires at the terminal board.I can hear and feel the center relay cycling every 30 secs and I get 120 VAC at the yellow wire on the element for about 30 seconds. The elements never warm. Any ideas.
1 Answer Hello Gary. Based on the information you provided, the electronic control WPW10201915 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Joyce December 09, 2011 for Model Number 96F-4CLX The bottom heating element on my upper oven is not heating properly. I want to replace it but it looks like there is a plate over the area where it would 'plug in'. Is it safe to remove it and replace the heating element on my own?
1 Answer Hi Joyce. First remove the power. Then the door and racks. Then the screws to the element mount plate. There will only be enough wire to gently pull it out far enough to remove the connectors. Then you make sure you have tight connections before you remount the element part # WPY04000066. Thank You.
