John January 22, 2020 for Model Number LTE5243DQB Having dryer issue: Heater does not shut off at cool down cycle and heater comes on during fluff cycle. What do you think? Thanks.
1 Answer John, Set the timer to an air fluff cycle and check continuity between the black and red wires on your timer with the unit unplugged. If continuity exists then you will replace the timer. If no continuity then most likely the heater has grounded to the heater box and will need to be replaced. Read More...
John G. June 09, 2011 for Model Number LTE5243DQ I changed the heater coil but the dryer still does not heat. I took a picture of the wires but I may have gotten them crossed. Where do the H1 and H2 wires go?
1 Answer Hello John. The heater is a closed circuit. As long as the wires are hooked to the heater, and the cut-off, it should work. You will need to test the thermal cut-off WP3404154 and make sure it is closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Bear April 02, 2011 for Model Number LTE5243DQO How easy is it to replace a heater coil? How much electricity does it use when it works? How easy to remove it?
1 Answer Hello Bear. These are not hard to change out. Remove the back panel of the dryer, and locate the heater in the bottom right corner. Remove the wires going to the heater and the screws holding the heater on the machine. Pull down on the heater and it will come off. Reinstall in reverse order. The heater runs on 240 volts when on. Hope this helps. Read More...
