Bob March 16, 2014 for Model Number sdg3606aww Hi Guys, I was going to order a new lint screen because the felt seal is getting a little worn,but I notice in your Q&A that they stopped putting the seal on them. What is supposed to keep excess lint from passing around the screen and into the duct and blower wheel? I guess Having one with a worn seal is still better than No seal at all. It's not coming apart,just a little frayed. Please advise. Thanks
1 Answer Bob, Yes, the seal was eliminated from production, and is no longer available. It wasn't designed to "seal" or collect excess lint from the duct work, and there has always been lint passing through the system and out the exhaust duct work. Leave it "as is" and you'll still be fine, just make sure you keep the lint filter clean and there are no holes or tears in the netting. Wash the filter occasionally with hot, soapy water to keep any softener from building up on the filter. Read More...
