Grant December 02, 2020 for Model Number WRX986SIHZ01 My model number is WRX986SIHZ01, I need a plug to replace this filter. I have tried just taking the filter out but the fridge will no longer dispense water and puts up a red light saying there is no filter.
1 Answer Grant, the model provided would not use a bypass as the filter housing W11194438 has a built-in bypass. As the water will not dispense, this would indicate that the housing bypass is clogged up and would need to be replaced. Unfortunately, there would not be a way to turn off the filter indicator as a filter EDR2RXD1 would need to be installed rather than utilizing the built-in bypass. However, the light being on would not affect the operation of the dispenser. Read More...

1 Answer Justin, On this model, there is no filter bypass required. You would simply just remove the filter from the unit and it will work. It would be suggested to see if the filter being in is causing the issue and if it is not corrected then the issue will be a faulty dispenser control board. Read More...
