Cynthia for Model Number cdagnalmyron@comcast.net My Whirlpool got a new housing about six months ago, and now I can't get the filter EDR3RXD1 to "click" into it. In fact, I just found out that the last one I inserted myself after the new housing was put in hadn't actually been filtering. I left it in thinking perhaps this housing didn't require the loud "click," but I was wrong. What should I try? I've been using Glacial Pure filters for years but do I need to go back to the Whirlpool brand, perhaps?
Answer Cynthia, In some cases you have to push really hard to get the filter to lock into place. It would be best to use the manufacturer's filter. You may need to replace the filter housing for this issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, March 15, 2022
