Hello Kath, The metal part that the line mounts in should hold the end of the water line in the correct position to fill the glass. Where the water flow is directed is totally dependent on how it is installed in the metal bracket it comes with.

I have a kitchenaid superba side by side fridge freezer. Not sure of it's exact age as it came with the house when we bought it in 2009. The water dispenser leaks sometimes, but only after filling a glass. It won't suddenly start dripping by itself. This may be a slow drip (~1 per second) or a fast drip (3-4 per second). When it drips and is left unattended (e.g overnight, there will be a huge puddle and it is damaging my floor. Can you tell me the parts I will need to fix it? I have searched online for an anti-drip valve for this model but haven't found one, and as we live in Hawai'i, and shipping can be troublesome, I don't want to order the wrong part only to have to send it back. many thanks, James

Hello Bob. Remove the water line from the valve and see if the valve drips. If so, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit.

Purchased 11/7/01, Installed 1/1/02. Existing valve extension tube, for the water dispenser assembly, has broken off just below the small chamber assembly, above the water dispenser arm. Is it possible to replace the chamber assembly? There is a fitting behind the dispenser arm which is accessible from the front of the dispenser area. The chamber assembly seems to be a complete unit with a 1" tube extending below the chamber. The chamber assembly looks like a flat bubble with a tube coming off the top and continuing around the front into a metal bracket above the dispenser arm. Thanks, Karl

Hello JB. Check for leaking or bad water valve, kinked/restricted water lines or extremely low water pressure (less than 20 psi). Once these thing have been checked, replace existing water reservoir with new redesigned water reservoir kit number WP2256126.

Ok, this fridge was in storage for a year. Everything was perfect when it went into storage. Once hooked up to water line, water tasted horrible. So far have had the water valve replaced, the reservoir and the line from the fridge to the wall. The taste is 85% better leading me to the conclusion that it's the water line in the door or the one from the door to the reservoir. I'm thinking I need to change at least the line in the door. I cant find the parts though and would appreciate instructions as well....probably for both lines. I'm determined to get this resolved without spending any more $$ cuz the fridge is 5 years old!! Help and yes, I've changed the filter out twice so it is NOT that. Replacing the reservoir eliminated 85% of the taste but it is still present. Thank you Nadine

I am not getting any water from the dispenser on the door. I've disconnected the line at the fitting at the door hinge, feeding up through the freezer door. I get water at that point when pushing the dispenser switch so I know the reservoir is not frozen and the activation switch and solenoid are operating properly. I assume the line is clogged or frozen in the freezer door. I cannot blow air through the line. I am now trying to determine if it is frozen or clogged. Is there a way to thaw the line out or do I have to replace it?

Hello Bobbie, We do not have a video to help install part. The way that you install the part you will have to remove front cover from the dispenser. You do this by using flat blade screwdriver under at the bottom of panel and pry out. This will pop the dispenser assembly out. You would then remove the dispenser bracket and remove the screw that holds the water line in place. Remove the lower kickplate of unit and disconnect hose that is at the bottom of door. Once disconnected you can do one of 2 ways to get the new water line in. You could pull the old out and just push the new one thru, you may have to lift door off hinge to get the line out of the door and through hinge. You could also tape the 2 ends of the old and new hose together and try to pull through from the bottom of the hinge. Once through reinstall. There should be instructions with he part that tells how the bracket goes on.

Hello. If all the air is out of the lines, you will need to replace the water valve if the water is leaking in the unit.
