The Front Load Washer Drum Baffle Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This kit includes the drum baffles, which are responsible for lifting and moving clothes within the drum during the wash cycle. This ensures that clothes are thoroughly cleaned by enhancing the tumbling action.

Causes of a bad drum baffle can include wear and tear over time, accidental damage from foreign objects left in the wash, or repeated exposure to heavy loads. These factors can lead to the baffles becoming loose or broken, reducing their effectiveness.

Symptoms of a bad drum baffle include:

  • Clothes not tumbling properly
  • Excessive noise during the wash cycle
  • Visible damage or looseness in the baffles

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Includes 3 baffles. For single baffle only use part number WP8182233. The mounting screw is part number WPY706189.

For Whirlpool Front Load Washer Drum Baffle Kit (Part Number: OEM11308122)

Cindy, Yes, a missing baffle could create an issue with vibration and off balanced loads. The clothes wont tumble and separate properly and could "bunch up" and not distribute properly in the tub. But the more important issue would be damage to the articles washed in the washer.

Brian, There is one of 2 ways to try to get the screw and plastic tabs out of the outer drum. The first way would be to access the hose at the bottom of the tube and try to see if they fell into the tube or if they are toward the back of the outer drum. If you are unable to get them out this way then you would need to pull the unit apart and separate the tubs to get them out. Also check the drain trap to make sure that they did not flow down to the trap. This is located on the front of the drain pump.

Barry, This is the correct baffle 285976 and will work for your unit. You will want to make sure that all 3 are installed. Installing just 1 may cause the unit to get off balance.
