Part Number: OEM18044784
Manufacturer Part Number: WPW10082894

This base heater assembly restores the oven's lower heating function in select convection microwaves. It delivers bottom radiant heat for baking and crisping so the unit can preheat properly and brown foods evenly.

  • Supplies bottom heat during convection, bake, or crisp cycles
  • Works with the control and temperature sensor to reach and maintain set temperature
  • Common symptoms of a failed heater may include no heat in convection mode, very long preheat, or poor browning/crisping
  • Visible damage to the element or tripping a circuit breaker may also indicate a shorted heater
What's included: 1 base heater assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing. Microwaves contain high-voltage components that can retain a charge even when unplugged
  • Allow the unit to cool completely; access typically requires removing the outer cover or lowering an over-the-range unit
  • Note wire locations and routing before removal; transfer any brackets, shields, or screws from the original assembly
  • Route wires exactly as original and avoid pinching; confirm clearances before reassembly and test a convection preheat

Hi Daniel. You can check at the white wire of the door switch (incoming lead) neutral and the white/red wire of the timer with the breaker turned off. Unplug these wires and you should get 10-30 ohms resistance on these wires if the thermal fuse is good and not open, (fuse part # WP3368928). Check to make sure the element is not shorted against one lead to the element itself also. Heating element part # WPW10082894. Also with the power on you can see at these 2-points that if the timer output has 120 vac output. If not it is part # WP8535372. Thank You.

Hello Marcia. The heater has wires under the dishwasher that needs to be removed, then you unscrew the heater nuts that are above the wires. Once removed, you can remove the heater WPW10082894 from the unit. Hope this helps.
