Paul B December 11, 2013 for Model Number DU840CWDQ5 How do I check the heat element and what is the part number. The model appears to be what I listed but could be model# DU840CWDG5.
1 Answer Hello Paul. WPW10082894 is the heater and it should read closed for continuity on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Daniel March 03, 2012 for Model Number RUD4000MQO Can you tell me how to check the heat element. What ohms of resistance and what voltage should it have going to it ? Thanks
1 Answer Hi Daniel. You can check at the white wire of the door switch (incoming lead) neutral and the white/red wire of the timer with the breaker turned off. Unplug these wires and you should get 10-30 ohms resistance on these wires if the thermal fuse is good and not open, (fuse part # WP3368928). Check to make sure the element is not shorted against one lead to the element itself also. Heating element part # WPW10082894. Also with the power on you can see at these 2-points that if the timer output has 120 vac output. If not it is part # WP8535372. Thank You. Read More...
