Keith Weatherby Ii February 10, 2021 for Model Number W11102911 Whirlpool oven door. So essentially the hinge with the spring will not budge. I can't move the hinge lock as it seems to be "stuck". I don't know how to get the hinge to move at all. Tried pulling back to maybe free the lock so I could rotate it upwards, but it doesn't move that way. If I try to use some pliers to pull directly upward on the lock, it will damage the lock because it's just a thin piece of metal. So any ideas here?

Spencer March 22, 2020 for Model Number MER6600FZ Two things I am hoping to try to fix. The oven door does close correctly and stops at the 90 degree angel open., but does not stop at a 45 degree angle. Also, the hot surface stays illuminated all the time.
1 Answer Spencer, For the hot surface light staying on, you need to test each infinite switch to find a closed reading between L1 and P on one switch with it turned off and replace that switch. Lee October 03, 2017 for Model Number WFE361LVQ1 Trying to get oven door back on and having hell. I'm told to fully expand/extend both hinges then insert them into their slots, move the door about until it's in. Basically the opposite of removing the door. Problem is, the hinge with the huge spring is extremely difficult to move. I've tried pulling on it until it snapped back and busted my hand in 2 places. I tried standing on it but when I tried lowering it, I tore a hole through my show. I've had some luck with standing on it with a phonebook. I can nearly get it fully extended but then it snaps back (came very close to shattering the front glass). Can someone offer any advice on getting this hinge fully extended & keeping it that way long enough to insert it back into stove? I wonder if it will even stay fully extended once I get it there. PLEASE HELP!!! Any advise is appreciated.

Do you mean force it to open all the way? even with if there's serious resistance?
