Asdf September 07, 2013 for Model Number KGRT607HBS6 The door of our oven wouldn't close due to what I know now was from a bent hinge. So we pushed and forced it and then the glass shattered. Do we need to replace the entire door or just to order some parts? Please help!
1 Answer Hello Asdf, Since the door glass for the stainless and the white models are no longer available, the only choice you have is the door glass for the black models WP9781627PB. Read More...
Joe December 28, 2012 for Model Number kesc300 I replaced the hinges on my range only a few months ago. The door no longer closes tight. Are there adjustments? They can not be worn out already. Thanks.
1 Answer Joe, There are no adjustments to make. You'll need to slide the range out from the cabinet, Remove the side panels and check the hinge receiver(s) 9782005 for being loose, bent, tweaked, etc. These receivers are no longer available through normal parts sources, so you may have to tweak them back into shape or search local or internet parts suppliers for discontinued or obsolete parts. Ron W. October 07, 2012 for Model Number kgrt607hbl9 Oven burner will not burn for bake. What is the correct resistance for the ignitor? Is there anything else I should check? No error code posted.
1 Answer Hi. The correct resistance is between 85 and 95 ohms cold. The ignitor is part # WP9782065. You will need to have the power connected and the unit set to the bake mode. You will test at the gas valve and set your meter to read 3.2 to 3.6 VAC. If the correct voltage is there, you have a bad gas valve. If the voltage is low, the ignitor is bad and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. The oven safety valve is part # WP9755424. Thank You. Read More...
Mike February 09, 2012 for Model Number sf367lekq How do I remove the door hinges on my whirlpool gas oven to install new ones?
1 Answer Hello Mike. To change the hinge in an oven door, you will need to determine how to remove the door on the model number you are working on. If you open the door to the first stopping point, some oven doors will lift off the unit in this position. On other models, you will see clips on the back of the hinge toward the opening where the hinge enters the range. If yours is like this, you will open the door all the way open, then pull the clips down until they stop and lock in place. Then close the door to the stopping point and lift the door off the range. If you door does not lift off, and it does not have the clips, then you will open the door all the way open. You will see a hole in the hinge at the bottom of the door. You will insert a pin or nail into that hole and close the door to the stopping point. Then you can lift the door off the unit. Once the door is removed, you will lay it on a soft surface and disassemble the door. Pay attention and make notes if needed for reassembly of the oven door. Once you have replaced the hinge WP9782033, you will reinstall the oven door back onto the range in reverse order of the way you removed it. Hope this helps. Read More...
