For Whirlpool Icemaker (Part Number: OEM18055308)

Akbar for Model Number KSSS42QMB00

Purchased the replacement icemaker for my built in fridge (KSSS42QMB00). IceMaker; Model WPW10277448. But, when I went to disconnect the old icemaker, I found not only the standard wire harness', in our model there is also a separate white wire (apparently live) that appears to be hard-wired into the ice maker itself (not a plug-in harness type connection). My question is this: How do I unplug the white wire from the old icemaker and install the new icemaker that does not have a separate white-live-wire? Any and all help will be appreciated more than I can tell you

Hello Akbar, the white wire was is a neutral wire for the ice maker water fill tube heater. The replacement ice maker does not use this feature. The ice maker and the fill tube heater shared the same white neutral circuit.

Hello Bubba. Remove the white cover from the icemaker. There is a locking tab on the left side. Press in on the locking tab to release the harness from the module head.
