Walt July 06, 2015 for Model Number 106.50264992 My ice maker stopped working, Dispense motor works great but there is no ice in the tray so the maker is not working for some reason. I have the unit out and apart right down to the control board. Is there an easy way to test to see if the problem is with the control board or the water solenoid that would let water up and into the ice maker? When I took it apart there wasn't any water in the ice maker and the water line is not frozen up.
1 Answer Hello Walt. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Bob H. March 23, 2015 for Model Number MFI2269VEW1 I have this Ice maker that is not working and strongly believe the module is bad. I've yet to check the inline fuse. Anyway, what I want to know is...I have a Module that is NEW part no. 628135 that is exactly Identical to the 628519. What on earth is the difference, because I compared them very closely with a magnifying glass checking electrical paths and all that, and I don't see the difference, but yet if you do the model number it clearly says NOT COMPATIBLE.
1 Answer Hello Bob, The motor module you have will work just fine. We apologize but the compatibility tool is still in work and should be dis-regarded at this time. Read More...
Bernd W January 03, 2015 for Model Number ED2GHEXNBOO The ice maker after a water fill cycle would not stop dumping water flooding kitchen. Now ice maker does not work at all. Can't find a fuse.Location of water solenoid valve is also not known. can you help.
1 Answer Bernd, You will want to pull the icemaker out of the unit and clean all the ice out. Let it sit for a bit and dry. As for the location of the water valve which is the most likely cause for the failure, this would be located on the back of the unit. Pull the unit out and remove the compressor compartment cover. On the right side looking from the back is where the water valve is located. The part number for the valve is W10408179. After cleaning icemaker, put the icemaker back in and see if it works. If it does not then the motor module is most likely bad. Read More...
