September 10, 2014 for Model Number ED5CHQXKB03 I just tested and replaced a motor module for my Whirlpool icemaker Model #Ed5CHQXKB03 Serial # SR0529208 which had frozen ice all over it from the fill valve. The old module tested bad and wouldn't turn when jumped, either. After melting and chipping all of the ice off, I ordered a replacement module, jumped to test it, and it turned and cycled fine, making ice properly for a week. Now, the module teeth are in the 2-o-clock position with frozen water in the tray, but there is no cycling. I've tried to jump it but it won't move. Before I buy another, I'm curious if something else is amiss as this sounds odd. Could the thermostat be bad? The water pump seems to work fine since it received the water just fine when I tested previously. What can I test? Thanks

Darren August 30, 2014 for Model Number 10657757790 Ice maker stopped making ice. I have jumped T-H on the module and it goes through a harvest, but when it comes time to refill it does not. I have also jumped V-L on the module and it opens the valve and it will fill. After going through this a couple times I just left it alone and it will continue to cycle, but will not fill. So it appears the ice maker will cycle but for some reason it will not fill, but I can get it to fill by jumping V-L. Thank you for your help.

1 Answer Hello Phil. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. Next, make sure the filter is good. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. 1 Answer Doug, The first thing that you will want to check is the emitter board. When you open the freezer door look at the right wall. There should be a light flashing. If the light is not flashing then push on the flapper on the left wall and push on the light switch and see if the light starts flashing. If not then the emitter board is bad and would need to be replaced. If the light is flashing when you open the door then push on the flapper and see if it glows solid. If it continues to flash then the emitter board is bad. If the light is solid then pull the icemaker out and remove the cover and check the pins in the center of the large wheel. If they are pushed together or one is broken off then you would need to replace the icemaker module.
