J. Preston Conner September 09, 2016 I have a Whirlpool refrig. Model GD5SHAXKQ00. The ice maker will not work. I have replaced the water valve and the ice maker unit. Still no water flowing. I noticed there is a light on the right side that seems to shoot a beam across refrig but it is not lite up. Can you help.
1 Answer J. Preston, If the light that is on the right wall is flashing then push the flapper on the left wall and see if it continues to flash. If the light continues to flash then the emitter board is faulty and would need to be replaced. If this checks ok then the icemaker would most likely be the issue. Read More...
Sergio August 05, 2016 for Model Number GS5SHGXKB00 I recently bought an ice maker control module from your company to replace the one in my refrigerator. The one that was in the refrigerator had stopped working and the new one solved the issue rather well. We have ice once again. However, I am now having a problem where the ice maker is making ice and when it's ready to be put into the bin, the stripper swings through the tray and the ice shoots out of tray, into the bin at a high rate of speed. Almost as if the ice gets stuck and the stripper has a hard time getting it out of the ice maker. I also seem to be getting ice cubes that are not completely frozen through and so at times, they get stuck on the stripper. Initially, the ice maker was making hollow ice and ice that wasn't frozen all the way through. However I fixed this by putting the vent that sends cold air to the ice maker back into place, it seemed to work. I now get frozen water splatter all around the ice maker and ice bin area. I also get a build up of ice on the shelf above and on the wall where the ice maker is attached to. This build up is frozen water that seems to not get completely frozen in the ice maker and somehow splatters out. It seems like it needs an adjustment of some sort but I'm not sure what adjustment that is, and how exactly to do it. I look forward to your response. Thank You.
1 Answer Hello Sergio. The freezer is to cold. Needs to be set 0 to 5°. It is cycling prematurely due to being to cold. Read More...
Mickey D. June 27, 2016 for Model Number ed5shaxmb11 The control motor constantly turns. It never stops. My guess is that this is a water valve problem and that the control motor just keeps turning because the thermostat always shows "frozen" so it doesn't have to stop to thaw the ice for dumping.
1 Answer Hello Mickey, This is going to be a set of contacts in the motor module of the icemaker that is stuck in the closed position. The icemaker 2198597 or motor module 8201515 will have to be replaced to correct the issue. Read More...

Lee May 28, 2016 for Model Number whirlpool wrs325fdaw04 Ice maker makes ice very slow. Also need to adjust water to make larger cubes.
1 Answer Lee, Check the freezer temp to make sure that it is between -5 and 5 degrees as this will cause the unit from making ice quickly. For this mode the icemaker will make 8 cubes about every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. To adjust the water level there is a screw on the side of the motor module when you to take the cover off. You can turn this no more than 1 turn clockwise. It will make a minimal adjustment to the cube size. If the cubes are really small then check to make sure that the filter in the unit is good. A old and clogged filter will cause smaller cubes. Read More...
Lupe April 25, 2016 for Model Number ED5VHGXMB11 It not making ice. module is not turning or turning on. their is no water poring into the module. if you could help me.
1 Answer Hello Lupe. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Ed September 07, 2015 for Model Number KSR25IKSS03 Water come in to the door for drinking water, but stop coming in to the ice maker. Do I replace the ice maker or is there some blockage to the water line?
1 Answer Ed, You will want to check the fill tube for the icemaker to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If the fill tube is not frozen, you will then want to check to make sure that there is voltage getting to the water valve when the unit calls for water. If there is power to the valve then the water valve would need to be replaced. If there is not power to the valve will be a faulty icemaker. Read More...

Dave August 29, 2015 for Model Number FD2FHAXS003 Hi - Ice maker dispenser not working on Whirlpool side freezer refrig. Ice maker is working ok & I have no lights on the dispenser switches, auger appearently not working. At one time found pieces of plastic [or something] in the dispensed ice before it quit altogether.
1 Answer Dave, The dispenser control does not have lights on it because it is just a switch assembly. Make sure that you are pushing the icemaker selector so that it goes all the way over. If this checks ok then pull the dispenser cover off by using a flat blade screwdriver in the opening at the bottom of the dispenser and prying out. Check the switch bracket to make sure that they are not broken and the lever not actuating the dispenser. Read More...
