Lynda January 28, 2016 for Model Number KFXS25RYMS4 What is the capacity of this icemaker? Mine keeps running out of ice.
Randy January 24, 2016 for Model Number MFX2570AEM3 My ice maker on my maytag refrigerator does not work. After reviewing the electrical schematics then testing the yellow/blue wire there is not 120V between this and ground. Is there suppose to be 120V on the wire continously?
1 Answer Randy, There will not be 120 vac from the blue to the yellow continuously. The only time that there will be 120 vac is when the ice maker calls for water valve to open to put water in the ice maker. Read More...
Milton January 12, 2016 for Model Number G16FARXXQ05 Does the ice maker on this Whirlpool model have an adjustment for ice cube size?
Dan October 27, 2015 for Model Number GI6SARXXF04 No ice being made. Wasn't any water in tray. Inserted jumper wire between holes V and L. Water was sent to tray. Next wanted to place jumper wire between holes T and H but I cannot see a hole T (V, L, M and H are the only holes I can see). Part # on assembly is W100377151. Is there any other testing I can do or should I conclude the ice making unit is the problem and replace the unit. Based on the cost of a thermostat or a motor unit versus the complete ice making unit it does not appear to make sense to replace either of these components.
1 Answer Dan, The T on the icemaker should be the hole that is down at the bottom where the H is located. Based on the water flowing in when the jumping V to L would most likely mean that the thermostat is faulty or the motor on the icemaker has failed. You would want to replace the icemaker. Tim October 21, 2015 for Model Number g16farxxq05 Do you have directions or a video of how to remove this ice maker?
1 Answer Hello Tim. To replace the icemaker on this unit, you will remove the ice bin. On the left wall at the bottom there is a cover. Use a small screwdriver in the little hole to release the cover. Once released you will then disconnect the harness and push the lever on the side of the icemaker and slide out. On the bottom of the assembly there are 3 screws that you remove to take icemaker off the assembly. Read More...
Richard October 05, 2015 Noticed shut arm of icemaker had fallen off and on floor of bottom freezer. I can replace the arm myself but my question is...can the arm fall off by just disengaging itself from its part or can the arm fall off because a part has broken off or there's a major problem with how the arm can reconnect? I don't want to spend the time removing the ice maker and find out the arm cannot be reinstalled because of a broken part. So all of this means ..Can the arm fall off without any internal damage.?
1 Answer Richard, Yes the arm can fall off without any internal damage to the icemaker but the fill cup on the icemaker has a part that the arm goes through. If this piece has broken then the fill cup would need to be replaced. Read More...
Sheena August 24, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool gi6sarxxf05 My ice maker abruptly quit working. It was over full of ice and I hadn't been using as much so I removed some to help it come out easier. Since then, it has not produced ice. I have checked to make sure there are no kinks in the water line and no ice cubes stuck in the maker. Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Sheena. Make sure the cut off arm on the icemaker is pushed down into the on position. It would have been raised up since the ice was full. If so, Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Brian August 12, 2015 for Model Number GI6FDRXXY07 My icemaker is the Whirlpool W10377151-I am not getting any ice or waterflow unless I manually move the arm up and down. If I leave it over night it will have some small cubes, but will not make ice again unless you manually move the arm again. I put a jumper wire between terminal T and H and the arm will move up and down and you can hear the dial turning in the ice maker. I watched it go through a complete harvest cycle with the jumper and waited for a minute once the arm got to the bottom and still didn't get water until I manually move the arm-then water flowed into the icemaker. It would seem that when the water valve is getting a signal the valve works fine. We aren't having any issues on the water side of the dispenser so it makes me think the valve is operating properly. I assume it is the same valve/solenoid for the ice maker and water dispenser? Thoughts on what to do next? I hate throwing parts at a problem so any diagnostic advice to determine the problem part before I order from you would be greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Brain. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the icemaker W10882923 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Jackie August 10, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool WRB329DMBM My Ice maker doesn't make enough ice and cubes are not large. I took off the cover to the front of ice maker and I don't see any kind of adjusting screw. Had the fridge for 6 months, it's never made a lot of ice.
1 Answer Hello Jackie. There is a small white adjustment screw on the side of the icemaker module. You will turn this screw to adjust the cube size. Make sure the freezer is 0 to 5°. Read More...
