The Ice Maker is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is responsible for producing ice cubes to fill the ice bucket in the freezer. The ice maker utilizes water from the refrigerator's internal supply line and electricity to slowly freeze water into individual ice cubes.

Causes of a bad ice maker can include worn components that affect its ability to properly freeze water, malfunctions in the electronic control board that regulate the process, or issues with the supply line.

Symptoms of a bad ice maker include:

  • Failure to produce ice cubes
  • Incorrect sized or shaped ice
  • Excessive noise during operation
  • Water in the freezer

This OEM replacement part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Oneal, It appears that the icemaker harness has not changed and this should work with this icemaker assembly.

Stephanie, The parts will be the same with possibly a design change. The original part is not available and would need to get the new one W10882923.

Matt for Model Number GI6FARXXY08 - W10377151

I have the W10377151 ice maker. It stopped making ice. I have tested the voltage on the ice maker and it is fine. If I jumper L and V it gets water. However, when I jumper T and H, I get bizarre behavior. Sometimes, it goes through 1 cycle (yet the water valve never opens). Sometimes, the ice maker starts a harvest cycle but then gets locked up, where I can't even get a voltage reading. And now, I initiated a harvest cycle and it is just continually harvesting (still never opening the valve). Do I just need to replace this ice maker or do I have a bigger problem? Thanks in advance!

Matt, This issue would be caused by a fault icemaker which will need to be replaced.

Sam, You will want to Jump out the T to H with an insulated jumper wire with 1/4" stripped off the ends. This should allow the unit to go into a harvest mode. The light switch will also need to be pushed in. You can then test for 120 vac at the V to N to test to see if there is power to the valve. This issue will most likely be a motor module that is the issue.

Robert, Unfortunately there is no way to get the unit to make more ice except you could turn the temp down a little which would allow the ice to freeze a little faster but other than that no way to do this.
