The Ice Maker is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is responsible for producing ice cubes to fill the ice bucket in the freezer. The ice maker utilizes water from the refrigerator's internal supply line and electricity to slowly freeze water into individual ice cubes. 

Causes of a bad ice maker can include worn components that affect its ability to properly freeze water, malfunctions in the electronic control board that regulate the process, or issues with the supply line.

Symptoms of a bad ice maker include:

  • Failure to produce ice cubes
  • Incorrect sized or shaped ice 
  • Excessive noise during operation
  • Water in the freezer 

This OEM replacement part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Milton, You will want to check to see if there is voltage of 120 vac getting to the water valve. If there is proper power then the valve would most likely be the issue.

Hello JC. Make sure the freezer is 0-5. If so, then it is possible the icemaker is bad. Also, check the fan for the air and the ice box sealing good.

Tom, When you remove the cover on the icemaker it would be on the side. The adjustment will most likely not make much difference in cube size.

Kenny, This icemaker kit comes with 2 different wire harnesses and instructions for the installation. You will want to use the harness that is for the 25 cubic foot model refrigerator which should have all the same connections.

Rob, You will want to check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If the fill tube is frozen then will need to be thawed. If it is not frozen then this will be a faulty main control board that would cause the icemaker to not work.

Ray, You would turn the screw counterclockwise but will not want to turn more than a 1/4 of a turn either direction.

Michael, Yes you would want to replace the wiring harness with the icemaker. Unfortunately there is not a video on doing this but should not be real difficult to do. It should come with instrucitons.

George, The only way to reduce the size of the cubes would be to turn the water supply valve off a little to lower the water pressure.
