For Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly (Part Number: OEM21042045)

Ronald B for Model Number 10650443909

My ice maker stopped producing ice a few days ago. It may be coincidence, but after having to repair a damaged hot water heater I noticed that the maker was not filling or making ice anymore. I thought maybe during the draining and flushing of my water heater that the maker inlet valve got air locked. Meanwhile the water dispenser works fine. I pulled the ice maker out and used a test jumper between T & H on the control board and the maker would cycle through it's fill & dispense operation. So, no air or frozen lines. After reinstalling the unit still no ice. When I open the freezer door, the emitter light flashes 2 times then a pause and repeats. Upon holding the flap down the light stays on solid. Would this indicate that my ice maker is defective? If not, any further troubleshooting advice would be awesome!

Ronald, You will want to pull the icemaker and take the module off the front and see if there is a burn mark on the connection points. If there is then replace the icemaker. If there is not then the issue will be with the water valve.

Marty, You will want to check the fill cup on the icemaker to see if it is frozen over with ice. If it is then you need to clean it out and replace the water valve due to seeping water and dripping into the cup and freezing.

Hello Stephani, The little position place that you are turning should be in the down position. You may want to look at your emitter beam to make sure that it is functioning properly. When looking at the light on the right side where the beam would be, the light should be flashing. If not then push on door switch and on the flapper and see if it is a quick flashes. If there is no flashing then you have a bad emitter board W11629974 and would need to be replaced. If it is flashing with door open and then you push on the flapper then it should glow solid. If not then the emitter board is bad and would need to be replaced.
