This impeller assembly replaces a worn or damaged wash-pump impeller to help restore water circulation and spray pressure for better cleaning. Commonly used in compatible Whirlpool wash pumps to address weak wash performance. What it does:

  • Spins inside the wash pump to move water through spray arms; damaged fins reduce spray force and cleaning.
  • Restores proper flow during wash cycles — symptoms of failure include weak or uneven cleaning.
  • Reduces abnormal pump noise and motor strain when the impeller is intact; cracked or missing fins can cause humming or grinding.
  • Works with the pump housing and seals to route water; a failed impeller can allow internal leakage or cavitation.
What's included: One impeller assembly. Install notes:
  • Always disconnect power (and water, if applicable) before servicing the appliance.
  • Inspect pump seals, gaskets, and surrounding components; replace any damaged parts to prevent leaks.

Bruce, Try this first, Disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the plumbing under the sink, start the dishwasher and let it fill and wash for a minute. Place the end of the drain hose in a large bucket or pail and drain the dishwasher. Any debris accumulated in the pump or drain hose should be flushed from the system, you may want to do this process a couple of times. Check and make sure there's no debris at the connection point. Reattach the hose and run the dishwasher again and check for proper drainage.

Hi Dan. Yes, especially with the suction plate underneath is N.L.A. . After removing the impeller screw part # is WP910654, and seal part # WP910934, maybe you can use some "freeze-off" spray part # 5303937087, and squirt some down inside the hole. Let it set overnight. Gently use a rubber mallet and tap on it breaking it loose so the lubricant will seep into the shaft surroundings. Prying up with a piece of wood on top of the support and between the impeller assy. part # is WP902461. Thank you.

Hello Michael. You will need to remove the screw in the top of the impeller WP33002789 and then the impeller will pull off the shaft. Hope this helps.
