Hello Don. Check and make sure nothing is stuck inside the chopper assembly W10083957V and making the noise. If it is clear, you will need to replace the pump motor WPW10757216 on the unit. Hope this helps.

Hello Inge. These can be tight. If you removed the screw, then the protector should lift out of the unit. You may need to use some needle nose pliers to pull it out. Hope this helps.
