Shun May 19, 2012 for Model Number w10140917 how do i replace the water inlet valve. do you have instructions?
1 Answer Shun, No there are no replacement instructions, as of yet. But it's not that difficult. Unplug the power cord, turn the water faucets off, and move the washer out enough to get behind the machine and disconnect(unscrew) the hoses from the fill valve. You'll see a large black plastic retainer button that will need to be carefully pryed out, and saved. Now you will need to raise the control pnel, and remove the washer cabinet."Components inside the washer cabinet can be accessed by completely removing the outer cabinet as one unit. 1. Remove the console mounting screws and tilt the console into the service position. ( Panel mounting screws can be located on the rear of the end caps, or in the front corners of the control panel . On newer models, there are spring clips on the bottom of the end caps, that need to be pressed in toward the rear of the unit to be released, using a putty knife or other flat bladed tool.) 2. Unplug the lid switch harness connector from the receptacle in the washer top. 3. Remove the cabinet mounting clips by placing the flat blade of a screwdriver in the clip and press down and towards the front to release the clip. 4. Remove the cabinet by tilting it forward and pulling it away from the washer. 4. Remove the cabinet by tilting it forward and pulling it away from the washer. 5. The rear panel can be tilted back for additional access to components at rear of machine by twisting the rear panel support." You'll need to "wiggle"m and move the assembly, until you get the tabs on the assemblt to clear the opening on the back panel so you can pull the assembly out and towards the front of the machine. disconnect the harness from the valve assembly and reverse the procedure to install the new part. reattch the cabinet and control console and check for operation.
