Doug July 31, 2019 for Model Number M13701134 We are looking for a Dryer Door Switch for this Whirlpool Coin op equipment. I was told the Switch needed is the W1012887 and that switch seems to be out of stock everywhere. Looking for a replacement for the W10128087. Thanks for the help!
1 Answer Doug, the door switch W10128087 substitutes to part number WPW10318609 as being the most up to date part number. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued this part and it is no longer available. Read More...
Karen June 05, 2018 for Model Number GEW9250PW0 GEW9250PW0 Dryer will not turn on, no buttons produce any result except the press and hold for 3 sec lock button and the light inside is on, other than that, nothing else. It happened last year but then suddenly began to work again and it happened a few weeks ago but after I unplugged over night, it came back on. On chat someone just recommended the door switch but I just read in the Q & A that if the inside light is on, it's not the door switch. Can someone please advise?
1 Answer Karen, With the unit not doing anything and it was corrected by leaving unplugged overnight then this will most likely be a faulty control board on the unit. Read More...
Chris H. June 04, 2018 for Model Number GEW9250PW0 The light inside my Whirlpool Duet dryer suddenly won't work. The wiring appears to be intact, I've tried 2 new OEM spec bulbs & pulled up the tab that sometimes gets stuck to the bottom of the socket, inside the socket. Still no light function. Everything else works perfectly including all lights on the front loading machine and I've received no error messages. Would my assumption that the door switch is causing my no light problem be correct? Thanks in advance for your thoughts! Chris H.
1 Answer Chris, Based on the information it does sound likely that the door switch will be the issue with the unit. Read More...
Warren January 02, 2018 for Model Number W10224575 I bought the dryer used. Sometimes, the power button would light up but when the start button was pressed, there was a beep and the dryer wouldn't start. Up to now, I could re-close the door firmly and the dryer would then start. Now, however, it won't start at all.
1 Answer Warren, You will want to check the door switch on the unit as this would most likely cause for this issue. Read More...
Johnny October 17, 2017 for Model Number 110.85081400 I watched your video about replacing the dryer door switch for this model. Why doesn't the door switch get replaced by simply disconnecting the terminals at the switch like a refrigerator door, instead of disassembling the complete dryer?
1 Answer Johnny, The retaining tabs that attach and hold the switch assembly to the front panel, are a bit different than those on a refrigerator door light switch. We imagine you could attempt to replace the switch as you described, but you'd probably cause more scratches and dings to the front panel, trying to force the tabs in and pulling out on the switch assembly. Besides, there's a reason the switch assembly includes the wires attached to the terminals, and there is also a retainer tab attached to the front panel to hold the wiring harness in place. Darrell K May 23, 2017 for Model Number GEW9250PW1 I am getting a E6 error code but my dryer runs when the door is closed but not getting any heat. Would this be the door switch or the Thermistor? I have replaced the heating element, thermostat, thermal fuse. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Darrell, Based on the model number there is not a E6 error code for this unit. An E6 would be erroneous and would most likely be a control board issue. Read More...
Jim P February 13, 2017 for Model Number GEW9200LL1 Could the door switch be bad, even the though the door light goes on and off normally. Dryer will not start.
1 Answer Jim, Normally if the light is going on and off the door switch will not be the issue. You will want to check the thermal fuse located on the blower housing to make sure that has continuity and if this checks ok then the issue will likely be the control board that is located on the side wall of the unit. Bernard August 07, 2015 for Model Number GEW9250PW1 On my Whirlpool dryer, If I open the door the light comes on as normal. mWhen I close the door the light goes out. However nothing else works. I push the power button and nothing. The door switch checks out with a multimeter. Any ideas?
1 Answer Bernard, You will want to check the thermal fuse on the dryer and also check to make sure that it has continuity. If no continuity then would be bad and need replaced. Read More...

1 Answer DJ, You will need to access the door switch, remove the wires and check the switch circuit. You also want to check and make sure, the door closes tightly and is evenly closed all the way around the opening, also check and make sure the top and bottom door catches are holding the door closed 279570.
