Johnny for Model Number 110.85081400 I watched your video about replacing the dryer door switch for this model. Why doesn't the door switch get replaced by simply disconnecting the terminals at the switch like a refrigerator door, instead of disassembling the complete dryer?
Answer Johnny, The retaining tabs that attach and hold the switch assembly to the front panel, are a bit different than those on a refrigerator door light switch. We imagine you could attempt to replace the switch as you described, but you'd probably cause more scratches and dings to the front panel, trying to force the tabs in and pulling out on the switch assembly. Besides, there's a reason the switch assembly includes the wires attached to the terminals, and there is also a retainer tab attached to the front panel to hold the wiring harness in place.
