Symptoms of a bad Door Latch Assembly include:

  • The dishwasher door not latching or staying closed

Rich for Model Number kudk03ctwh2

Stops in mid cycle, resume light flashes as if the door was opened, but it wasn't. If I push the door inward hard and then push the resume button,it starts back up. Based on other questions on your site it seems I may have a latch problem. What steps do I need to do to replace part #AP3996721. Is it on the top of the door itself or is it the part on the top of the dishwasher where the door pushes against? This problem is very intermittent. Some days it works just fine. Does the unit build up pressure while washing and cause the door to expand outward enough to deactivate the switch assembly?

Hello Rich. The door latch WPW10404412 is not hard to replace. You will disconnect the power and remove the inner door panel on the unit to access and replace the latch assembly. Hope this helps.

Hi Ken. We will require the exact model # you have so we can be specific with needed info. Is there any fault codes? Is the motor humming like the chopper blade is jammed? Is the water in the tub? Check the float and fill switch if not. Thank you.
