Ray, You will need to remove power to the dishwasher, Dismount the dishwasher from the cabinet and slide it out an inch or so, to access the door strike screw on the top of the tub. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Ray. It may help if the change the handle and the latch assembly WPW10130695, instead of just the latch WPW10275768. Also, make sure the unit is adjusted properly when installed and is not hanging on the strike. Hope this helps.

Marie, What are we working on, a dishwasher or a MAH5500bww washer ? there are two different latch assembly(s) and two different procedures. WP22003593 and WP22004435 are the door latch assembly for the MAH5500bww (depending on series/serial number) to replace that assembly, you will need to remove the front panel, remove the dispenser trim bezel, and raise the top the access the latch assembly. It's not that hard a repair, and if you need to yes we will accept the return of the part for 365 days. Hello Sig. To replace the latch you will need to order WPW10130695. These are not hard to do. Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the screws securing the inner door panel. Raise the door panel and gain access to the latch assembly. Unplug the wires from the latch and reinstall with the new latch in reverse order. Hope this helps.

Hello Melanie. You will need to check and see if you need the door latch WPW10130695 or the door strike WP99002644. You can look at the strike and see if it is broken. If not, you will need to replace the latch. Hope this helps.
