Vegas November 21, 2018 for Model Number wtw5000dwt1 Lid switch has 3 wires red, white and blue. I want to by pass it, do I join all three together?
1 Answer Vegas, Bypassing the lid latch switch assembly would make your washer unsafe to use. The control board has to "see" the lid switch and the lock switch circuits "closed" at the same time. If someone was to raise the lid during a spin cycle, bad things could happen, you may want to reconsider your options. Read More...
Donald November 12, 2018 for Model Number wtw5640xw3 Lid Lock is blinking even when the washing machine is off and it will not let me put it in the diagnostic mode
1 Answer Donald, Let's try disconnecting power for a couple minutes and see if the control will reset. There is a tech sheet in the upper left front corner for testing if you need it. Tilt the unit back and you may be able to reach it. If not the whole top assembly will need to be raised. Read More...
Sheri June 12, 2018 Washer model# mvwc400xw0 the sensing keep blinking and will not lock or work. Tried to put in diagnostic mode no success please help
1 Answer Sheri, You'll want to make several more attempts to program the control into the diagnostics/error code test. You don't want to purchase a control board unnecessarily. Once you are into the diagnostics mode, you may notice Lid Lock, Motor Sensor, and/or Motor Speed errors(F7-E* codes) in the diagnostics tests, This would be a "good" indication that the shift actuator WPW10006355 has failed or the wiring between the shift actuator and main control board has an issue. Dawn G May 25, 2018 for Model Number MVWX700XQ0 I had previously posted a question regarding my Maytag Washer (Model MVWX700XQ0) repeating the entire wash cycle after I replaced the lid lock assembly. You responded that this is an issue with the failed relay on the control board, and that I should post a new question so that you could give me a proper diagnosis and recommend parts. So, this is the new post, and I hope you have all of the information you need. I did have one additional question - if it is a failed relay on the control board, was this likely the problem all along? In other words, I didn't need to replace the lid lock assembly, so I can reinstall the old one and return the one I purchased from you?
1 Answer Dawn, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty control board and may have been the issue to begin with. Since the lock has already been installed then it is unable to be replaced. Read More...
Dawn G. May 22, 2018 for Model Number MVWX700XQ0 I replaced the lid lock assembly (W10404050) on this model, and it seemed to fix the problem - the washer now goes through an entire wash cycle. After the wash cycle is finished, the washer does nothing for a few minutes and then starts the entire wash cycle again from the start. I assume that I must have hit something out of place when installing the lid lock assembly, and was hoping you could give me some direction on what I need to do to fix it. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Dawn, This issue will be a failed relay on the control board. For the correct part number, we will need to ask you to post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag so we can give a proper diagnosis and recommend parts that can be guaranteed to work properly on your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Bill March 10, 2018 for Model Number atw4675yq0 Hello, I push the start button the washer starts to fill stops after 5 to 10 seconds and red lights come on the control panel the lid lock light is flashing so I hold start button to reset and the washer resets but repeats the same procedure. do you think it's the locking mech or the control board?
1 Answer Bill, It will be recommended to access the tech sheet and put the unit into a diagnostic to see what the error code is that is being trigged. Check the fill hose screens on the water valve to make sure that they are not clogged also. Read More...

Corinne S February 13, 2018 for Model Number MVWC360AW0 Hello, I replaced the cam and the shift actuator on this Maytag washer. However, the machine doesn't spin. Is it the door latch? Thank You, Corinne
1 Answer Corinne, The door lock would most likely not be the issue if the unit is agitating. You will want to ensure that the cam is rotating properly and put the unit into the diagnostic and see if there are any stored error codes. If this checks ok then the issue will most likely be a wiring harness or control board issue. Read More...
