Gene for Model Number Whirlpool microwave model number MH6141XKB

The cooktop light bulb (Whirlpool p/n 4358971) is stamped at the base with "125V, 30W, and KEI". I need a replacement bulb but when I "chatted" with a person a few moments ago, she told me my p/n (4358971) doesn't show up when she punched in the MH6141XKB whirlpool model number. She recommended P/n AP3886256 as a replacement bulb. This bulb she recommends is a totally different shape than what I have (mine is more cylindrical and hers is more tear drop shaped). I don't know if hers is equally as bright (re: my 30W, 125V). Can you clear this up for me and recommend a higher wattage or at least the same wattage as my p/n 4358971 bulb that needs to be replaced? Thank you. p.s. My microwave is a 2004 model

Glenn, With the base still left in the socket you will want to remove the glue but also unplug unit and stick a pair of needle nose pliers into the base and open them up and try to twist out the base of the bulb.

Hello Tina, It is not a good idea to change the wattage of the bulb in a circuit since it can cause problems with the power supply circuit, especially if there is a control board involved.
