G.T. December 30, 2014 for Model Number MH1160XS My over the range Microrange bulb went out. I replaced with like same wattage but now I do not have the ability to turn the dim or highlight one. (One click for bright light, click again for dim lamp light). Is this because I purchase a "generic" replacement bulb? (Only matched the wattage of the old hood lamp bulb).
1 Answer Hello G.T., You are correct. The factory bulb 8206232A is a dual element, which enables two circuits to operate independently for high and low intensity light settings. A single element bulb will not operate properly. Read More...

When mine burnt out and I tried to get it out in order to replace it, the bulb broke away from the base. Is there more than one kind?

Need Light September 27, 2014 for Model Number 3850W2A072B This over the stove Whirlpool microwave has two 125V/40W lightbulbs. I have replaced them with GE bulbs from Walmart (120V/40W) high intensity bulbs but the lights won't come on? They are the exact same bulbs. Help!
1 Answer Need Light, You will want to test the socket to make sure that there is 120 vac getting to them. If there is then try to tighten the bulbs just a little bit more and see if they come on. If there is not then the issue would most likely be with the control board not sending power to the sockets. Read More...
