Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Led Light Assembly (Part Number: OEM18067608)

Sarah, If all lights are out then most likely the supply voltage to the refrigerator light in the top of the unit is not there. On that light, you will find a yellow wire and a white wire. With the door open you should have 120 VAC on those wires. If no voltage then the light switch would need to be replaced. WP2149705 If 120 VAC is present then the light itself needs to be replaced. WPW10515058 The one in the top of the refrigerator.

Donald for Model Number WRS342FIAM02

I bought the refrigerator in 2015. It is now 2022. The top cabinet LED began flickering intermediately about a year or so ago. Then it stopped and was ok. A few months ago, the light seemed dim, and the freezer LED went out. Then a short time later, the cabinet LED went out. The problem with the main cabinet LED was resistor R15 which was clearly burned. The date of manufacture was 2010. From you, I just purchased and installed the new OEM cabinet module. To my surprise, the freezer LED did not come on. and the cabinet LED appeared dim. Curiously, it went bright for the time the door was open. Upon opening again, it appeared dim I looked at your video and learned that the freezer LED was the likely culprit. I removed it. Unlike the burned resistor in the cabinet LED, there was nothing visibly wrong. I am inclined to by the freezer LED as you suggest in your video and Q&E but I am a bit reluctant. Could it be a bad cabinet module? Please advise.

Thank you for you quick reply. You customer service has always been exemplary. As I mentioned in my email. I purchased the refrigerator unit from you on 1/13/2022 I installed it yesterday 11/17/2022 Order #13388296-11511757 There is only a 2-pin socket to the freezer lighter light. I am comfortable around electronics. I could check for voltage. I am ok following your video ad replacing the freezer LED Perhaps we should talk. 845-357-5813 201-970-6332 Donald Labriola

Thomas for Model Number WRS325FDAM04

Lights in the Frig side and Freezer side were diming or flickering. I looked at most of the questions and the advice from what I saw from the techs were that the light assembly module on refrig top was mostly likely bad. This is part number WPW10515058. That did not do the trick. Switches are good on frig and freezer side. I ordered part number WPW10515057 for the freezer to see if that is the problem. How do I test as to which part it is and do I need the schematic dwg to do so? I would like to be complete with this since the mostly likely part was not it. I really appreciate your help. All lights flicker but they do come on. Also, if the WPW10515058 is good (the original one) can I or should I return the new part? Thanks for your help with this.

Hello Thomas, likely the freezer LED module is causing this fault, since the modules are in series a faulty one affects the others. Due to the type of circuit used it is difficult to check the individual modules. As far as part return contact our Customer service 1-877-477-7278 for that info

Dan, Thanks for the question!!! The light on the top of the fridge with the flat lens WPW10515058 contains the control for all three led lights and is most likely at fault.

Lindsey, based on the information provided, it sounds like the freezer light WPW10515057 has a short in it and is causing interference with the other lights. The freezer light is the same one used in the lower refrigerator while the upper refrigerator light WPW10515058 is responsible for sending voltage to the other lights.

Paul, the blinking lights can be caused by a short in one of the LEDs. The easiest way to identify which LED would need to be replaced is to access the freezer light, tape the door switch closed, remove the LED and use a jumper wire in its place. If the lights in the refrigerator stop flashing when the refrigerator door is opened, the freezer light WPW10515057 has failed. If they continue to flash, the freezer LED can be put back in and the tape removed from the door switch. From here, tape the refrigerator door switch shut and use the same process for the lower refrigerator light WPW10515057. If the freezer light does not blink when the freezer door is opened, the lower refrigerator light has failed. If the lights continue to flash, the top refrigerator light WPW10515058 has failed.

Brian The light in the refrigerator side top is where the power goes in and then is jumped to the other two lights. It is recommended that you replace all three at the same time.

Brady, With the freezer light not working, you would want to get the freezer light to replace it. This should correct the issue.
