Hello Scott, the buzzer is wired into the motor circuit, if the motor cannot start the buzzer will sound as it does at the end of the cycle as the motor slows and stops., suggest you check the motor is getting 120v when the start switch is pressed.

Tom for Model Number Whirlpool Ultimate Care II Washer GSW9800P

Washer fills, agitates, pauses drains (no spin during drain), then spins, refills for rinse, pauses, then drains (no spin during drain) BUT buzzer sounds all during this drain period, then pauses, and spins and completes cycle fine. I can avoid the buzzer during the second drain period if, during the pause simply push in or out 1 time the control knob. I have bypassed the lid switch, but it had the same effect with the buzzer as pushing in or out the timer control knob so I thought maybe lid switch was bad so bypassed it. It still buzzes while draining on the drain after rinse. So I know lid switch not the problem, and if I tolerate that horrible buzzer it does everything as it should so I believe my buzzer switch is bad. Can I simply unwire the buzzer switch or replace the buzzer switch? Thanks for any advice you can give. Tom

Tom, Its sounds like you have some stuck contacts in the timer. If contacts 9 and 32 or 32r is closed during the spin setting replace the timer.

Kenny, If your unit is heating correctly when running you can test the connector on the top of the timer motor for 240 vac. It should be a black wire and a white with blue stripe wire. If no voltage found in a run position then replace the timer.

Hello Sue, You would need to order WE5M48, WE2M196, WE05X20431, and WE4M415 to add a light. This unit could not have an end of cycle buzzer installed since this would require re-engineering some of the wiring and the timer for the unit.

Hello Sue, Some models can be changed but this can get expensive when the timer and harness have to be changed. It would really depend on the model number involved since few can be changed over and many cannot. If you would like, you can post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag and we can check into this for you.

Hello Richard. It sounds like the timer has failed and will need to be replaced on the unit. Make sure the buzzer and finish guard switches are good first.
