Jarrod January 08, 2018 for Model Number LER5620KQ1 My buzzer won't stop buzzing when the timer is in the OFF position. I recently replaced the timer, because the original one got stuck during a dry and wouldn't cycle past a certain spot. I just replaced the Start switch to try and fix the buzzing. That didn't work either. My door switch is new as well. Now, the machine buzzes constantly when in the OFF position, and it will start drying instantly when the timer is rotated to any of the drying settings (I don't have to press the Start button). Could the buzzer be the culprit for this behavior? Over the past year, I've replaced every part in the dryer, except the motor and the buzzer. I do know the timer is wired correctly, because I pulled one wire off at a time from the original timer. Thanks for any help!
1 Answer Jarrod, This issue will not be caused by a faulty buzzer but would most likely be caused by a faulty motor on the unit. This will cause it to start immediately without pushing start button as well. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Ann. On some models there was a switch that you could use to adjust the volume on the buzzer. Read More...
Minn August 21, 2016 for Model Number 110.60702990 I ordered and received the buzzer part number AP6010605 (694419) for my Kenmore Dryer. My dryer was no longer buzzing at end-of-cycle, even though the "end of cycle signal" switch is set to "signal on." I have always just left the signal turned on. Just when the new part arrived the existing buzzer started working again, but intermittently. Sometimes it sounds at the end of the cycle and sometimes it doesn't. Have you seen this happen with a buzzer, or do they normally either work or fail completely. I checked and there are no loose connections in the back of the dryer. Could the problem instead be the timer? Do to the expense of a timer, I will not be replacing an otherwise working timer just to make the buzzer work. Please let me know if I can open the plastic buzzer package and try it, but still be able to return it if it does not solve the issue. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Minn. You can try the buzzer. If it does not fix the issue, then the next place to try is the signal on and off switch. Last thing would be the timer. Read More...
Larry February 29, 2016 My dryer does nothing, at all. I have checked the thermal fuse, the start button, the door switch and all other plugs that I could and all was fine. The blower vent isn't clogged and the belt is on the tube, it turns by hand so the motor isn't locked up. I have 220 from the brakes to the wall outlet to the dryer. What is the most likely problem? It was working fine, worked this morning but this evening it isn't doing anything.
1 Answer Hello Larry. If the belt, door switch, and thermal fuse are good, then either the start button or motor has failed on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Donna December 05, 2015 for Model Number amana My dryer, when I try to start it the buzzer goes off, but that's it. No matter what cycle I put it on , the buzzer goes off and dryer will not start. Any answer? Thanks
1 Answer Donna, the problem is most likely a bad motor winding and the motor will need to be replaced. Electricity takes " the path of least resistance" when the motor winding fails the buzzer is the path of least resistance so the buzzer sounds, because the motor cant or wont start due to the damaged, worn out windings. David March 02, 2015 for Model Number LDR38228WO My dryer will not start, it was working fine then just wouldn't start again. I checked the two round fuses in the rear and they are good, my buzzer tested NOT good, could that be the reason why my dryer won't start? I saw a long fuse in your video but my dryer does not have that fuse. I believe you called it a thermal fuse.
1 Answer Hello David. You need to check the door switch on the unit. The buzzer should not affect it. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Jason February 09, 2015 for Model Number Le6090xsw1 When the drying cycle ends the dryer shuts off correctly but the buzzer continues to sound until you open the door. I unhooked the buzzer and taped the wires. It still stops the cycle as it should just without the buzzer. I assumed buzzer switch is just sticking. Am I risking anything by leaving the switch un wired?
1 Answer Hello Jason. No, you can leave it unwired, but the issue is the timer, not the buzzer. It is bad and in order to repair it, you would need to replace timer on the unit. Read More...
Leo January 17, 2015 for Model Number 110-97573220 At the end of the dryer cycle the buzzer sounds but does not time out and shut off.
1 Answer Leo, With the unit not shutting off and timing out at the end of the cycle, it sounds like the contacts for the timer are stuck and the timer would need to be replaced. Read More...
Marilyn December 29, 2014 for Model Number 110.67422600 Kenmore 400 series dryer My dryer won't start. I have checked the start button, timer switch and they are both fine. It does not even buzz when you push the start button like it used to. It worked fine and the next time I went to use the dryer it wouldn't start. Anymore things I can check out?
1 Answer Hello Marilyn. You will need to check the thermal fuse WP3392519 and the door switch WP3406107 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
