Jarrod for Model Number LER5620KQ1

My buzzer won't stop buzzing when the timer is in the OFF position. I recently replaced the timer, because the original one got stuck during a dry and wouldn't cycle past a certain spot. I just replaced the Start switch to try and fix the buzzing. That didn't work either. My door switch is new as well. Now, the machine buzzes constantly when in the OFF position, and it will start drying instantly when the timer is rotated to any of the drying settings (I don't have to press the Start button). Could the buzzer be the culprit for this behavior? Over the past year, I've replaced every part in the dryer, except the motor and the buzzer. I do know the timer is wired correctly, because I pulled one wire off at a time from the original timer. Thanks for any help!

Jarrod, This issue will not be caused by a faulty buzzer but would most likely be caused by a faulty motor on the unit. This will cause it to start immediately without pushing start button as well.

Hello Ann. On some models there was a switch that you could use to adjust the volume on the buzzer.

Minn for Model Number 110.60702990

I ordered and received the buzzer part number AP6010605 (694419) for my Kenmore Dryer. My dryer was no longer buzzing at end-of-cycle, even though the "end of cycle signal" switch is set to "signal on." I have always just left the signal turned on. Just when the new part arrived the existing buzzer started working again, but intermittently. Sometimes it sounds at the end of the cycle and sometimes it doesn't. Have you seen this happen with a buzzer, or do they normally either work or fail completely. I checked and there are no loose connections in the back of the dryer. Could the problem instead be the timer? Do to the expense of a timer, I will not be replacing an otherwise working timer just to make the buzzer work. Please let me know if I can open the plastic buzzer package and try it, but still be able to return it if it does not solve the issue. Thank you.

Hello Minn. You can try the buzzer. If it does not fix the issue, then the next place to try is the signal on and off switch. Last thing would be the timer.

Donna, the problem is most likely a bad motor winding and the motor will need to be replaced. Electricity takes " the path of least resistance" when the motor winding fails the buzzer is the path of least resistance so the buzzer sounds, because the motor cant or wont start due to the damaged, worn out windings.

Hello Jer. Clogged lint screen. - Restricted vent system. If both are good and the thermistor is new, check wiring harness. If it is good, replace the board.

Hello Jason. No, you can leave it unwired, but the issue is the timer, not the buzzer. It is bad and in order to repair it, you would need to replace timer on the unit.

Leo, With the unit not shutting off and timing out at the end of the cycle, it sounds like the contacts for the timer are stuck and the timer would need to be replaced.
