Evan June 30, 2016 for Model Number Amana ACC3660 cooktop One of four burners does not have a spark. I replaced the igniter on the burner with a new one, but still no spark. Is it possible that a defective spark module might only generate a spark at some of the burners, or if it is bad all would not ignite?
1 Answer Evan, Yes, it is possible for a spark module WP31962701 to faila single circuit, and not supply the high DC voltage to the igniter. In you case you want to make sure there aren't any loose connections at the terminal block conductors in the bay or on the burner cartridge. If all's OK suspect the spark module and replace it. Lou K December 10, 2012 for Model Number Amana AKGD3050SS One of the burners is not lighting, but others light. I didn't see any corrosion and tried to scrape the female jack(?) in the back of where the burner tray plugs in (where there are two ignitor electrodes male jacks and the two gas connections), but that didn't help. I saw on some other site that spark module most likely needs to be replaced. Do you agree?
1 Answer Hello Lou, If you are only having the problem with 1 ignitor and have tested continuity on the ignitor and wire and it checks ok then the spark module WP31962701 would need to be replaced. Read More...
Dennis November 24, 2012 for Model Number aks3050e - p1142526ne No spark on any of the burners. Checked the fuse box and outlet. All are working. Do I need to replace all 4 electrode spark ignitions, or is there something else like a reboot. I unplugged/replugged the cord.
1 Answer Dennis, There is NO reboot, but it's not likely you'll need the igniters either. You do need to make sure the igniters, burner bases and caps are clean and free of debris and corrosion. The more likely issue is a damaged wire to the spark module or a faulty module WP31962701 itself. Thanks Read More...
Dennis May 23, 2011 for Model Number ACC3660 None of the burners will light or spark could this be the spark module has gone bad?
1 Answer Hello Dennis. If there is power coming to the spark module, and it does not spark, you will need to replace the spark module WP31962701. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
