Pat January 09, 2025 for Model Number EV170NYLS00 (2003) My FREEZER Relay and Overload need to be replaced (the overload melted!). Part number 4356738 (Relay) is no longer manufactured. I saw a post from 2022 (Colleen) with a similar situation. However, the part you recommended 4387913 (Relay & Overload Kit) is for a REFRIGERATOR. Can they be used on an upright FREEZER?
1 Answer Pat, The manufacturer has discontinued the part for your model, and no replacement is available from the manufacturer. The part you ask about may or may not operate your compressor, but is not recommended by the manufacturer. Therefore, if used on your model there is no guarantee it will function or would the part be warranted. Read More...
Brian April 01, 2023 for Model Number ET18PKXDW00 Hello. Can you tell which terminal the white wire connects to on the relay? Thanks.
Jc November 15, 2022 for Model Number W5TXEWFWQ01 successfully replaced the starter relay and capacitor, on my whirlpool frig, but the plastic wire connector won't 'clip'. It's missing the tiny protrusion that clicks behind. Fridge is running, just concerned the wires will unconnect with vibration of the compressor thanks in advance, jc
Acbill March 24, 2022 for Model Number GE Refrigerator Thanks for the super quick response to my relay question. You guys are the best. One last question. I can't find a capacitor hooked to my compressor. Does the relay accomplish the same start function as a stand alone capacitor? Thanks Again.
1 Answer ACBill, The capacitor is not a required part on the refrigerator and will work without it. Read More...
Acbill March 24, 2022 for Model Number GE Refrigerator 1 pin relay I have a GE refrigerator with a 1 pin relay. I can't seem to find a 1 pin relay as they all seem to have a minimum of 2 pins. Can I use a 2 pin relay to replace my relay that has only one pin? There are only 2 wire that hook up to the compressor terminals. One hot wire to the relay and one black wire to the overload. Thanks
1 Answer AcBill, Yes, the 2 terminal relay will work for your refrigerator. You just need to hook up the one wire to it. Read More...
Nick October 26, 2021 for Model Number WH43S1E I’m looking for a replacement relay for my model that is two pins at 1 and 2. All replacements I’m finding have too many pins, or 2 pins in a different placement. Can I replace mine with 3 or 4 pin relay? Currently I have two black wires running to pin 1 and two white wires running pin 2.
Rob May 24, 2021 for Model Number GE TNX22PR Profile Performance Refrigerator Refrigerator humming noise from the back, but I found the fridge was warm when I returned from 2 week business trip. Freezer was cool but there was little to no ICE. I think its the overload relay kit on the compressor, but cannot figure out the part # to buy & not certain if that's the problem. Can you help me out?
1 Answer Rob, It would be recommended to check and see if there is a defrost issue as well but the part number for the overland and relay will be WR07X10055 and WR8X169. Read More...
Joseph January 03, 2021 for Model Number WH43S1E How would I wire a replacement starter relay with one pin if my original relay has two? The original relay had two white wires connected to one prong and two black wires connected to another.
1 Answer Joseph, as there are two wire sets going to the original relay, the use of a single terminal relay would not properly work. As the manufacturer does not provide a part listing for this model, we would not be able to recommend a replacement nor how to modify the wiring. Read More...
Clete February 15, 2020 for Model Number Amana TM18V2W-1318002WW My overload switch seems to be totally unavailable everywhere. Mine has 2 prongs and everything I fine has only 1 prong. Can a 1 prong overload still be used? My start relay is bad. Do i have to change the overload with it too? Is there a universal Overload switch?
1 Answer Clete, The part number that would be needed for the overload is WP4344040 which has been discontinued. You would simply just splice the 2 black wires together to attach onto the single terminal. It is recommended to replace the overload when replacing the relay. Read More...
Robert September 22, 2019 for Model Number WH31S1E Is there a way to test the overload and relay on a compact Whirlpool mini fridge WH31S1E?
1 Answer Robert, You can test for voltage to make sure you are getting 120 vac and then check the compressor pins looking for resistances between common and start and common to run should equal readings between the start and run. The common pin is always by itself. Read More...
