Liz, With a cracked or broken control panel, yes, you'll need to repalce the panel assembly 6-917713 . The latch and the handle are both separate parts but are available as a "component kit" WPW10130695, and may be easier for you to replace. Here's some help : "Control Panel 1. Disconnect power to the machine. 2. Remove the Inner Door Panel. 3. Remove PC Board Housing Cover. 4. Disconnect Membrane Switch from PC Board. 5. Remove PC Board Base. 6. Lift out Latch Assembly. 7. Remove 4 screws securing Control Panel to Outer Door. NOTE: Facia is susceptible to damage during reinstallation. Inner Door Panel Removal of the Inner Door Panel will allow access to the Microprocessor Board, Door Switches, Detergent / Rinse Aid Dispenser, and Vent Assembly. Removal 1. Disconnect power to the machine. 2. Open the Dishwasher door. 3. Remove the 11 Torx™ screws along the sides and top of the Inner Door Panel. 4. Separate the Inner Door Panel from the Outer Door. 5. Disconnect wires from the Vent and Dispenser Wax Motors before pulling the Inner Door Panel away from the Dishwasher. Removal of door latch assembly 1. Disconnect power to the machine. 2. Remove the Inner Door Panel. 3. Lift Door Latch Assembly out." It's a lot easier than it sounds, and you can handle it. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Linda. You will need to check the water level inside the dishwasher and make sure it is filling properly. It should fill up to the bottom of the heater. If not, you will need to replace the water valve. We will need your serial number to find the correct part for you. Hope this helps.
