Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Panel- Con (Part Number: OEM13095318)

Denise M

I replaced the control panel and latch assembly this morning. Everything works except the window that shows the time duration does not light up and some of the selections have a faint green light lit when not in use. For example, I'm using the Normal wash cycle and that selection's green light is very bright, but the Light wash cycle's green light is also lit, but very faint. Any ideas? Is it a bad control panel or maybe I didn't get the ribbon inserted correctly, although I did check that before screwing everything back together.

Hello Denis. Check and make sure the ribbon cable is seated good and the tab locks the ribbon cable into place. If so, control panel is bad on the unit.

Danny, First thing, check and make sure there are no kinks or clogs in the drain hose, and plumbing pipes. A quick easy way, is to disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the disposal or plumbing and start the dishwasher, after it fills and runs a couple of minutes, drain the dishwasher into a large bucket. You will also want to remove the spray arm, filter plate and impeller down to the pump filter and will need to check the drain baffle WP6-919119 for distortion and damage causing a restriction in the drain.

Hello Elaine. No, the control panel 6-917732 does not come with the latch assembly. You will need to disconnect the power to the unit. Then remove the screws securing the inner door panel. Remove the inner door panel and remove the cover off the control board. Remove the ribbon cable from the control board and remove the screws holding the control board housing in place. Next remove the screws holding the control panel in place. Reinstall with the new control panel in reverse order. Hope this helps.
